Review RecipeDrunken Rudolph Fireball Hot Chocolate
Table of Contents
Drunken Rudolph is an adult hot chocolate (with Fireball) that looks like it came directly from the North Pole. This adorable Christmas cocktail is full of decadence and plenty of holiday spirit with rich hot cocoa and vanilla ice cream combined with Fireball (cinnamon whisky) and Bailey’s for you to enjoy this season.
Drunken Rudolph Ingredients
You’ll need:
- 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream
- 1½ ounces of Bailey’s Irish Cream liqueur
- ½ ounce of Fireball Cinnamon Whisky
- 6 ounces of whole milk
- 1 (1.25-ounce) packet of hot cocoa mix
PRO TIP:
I like to use the specialty individual hot cocoa packet mixes for drinks like these, or if I am only making one at a time, but feel free to make whatever hot chocolate brand you enjoy.
The goal is to have six ounces of hot cocoa. Remember that different brands come in different-sized packets or even as a bulk container. Not to worry, just follow the packet for a single serving.
For The Garnish:
- Squirt whip topping
- Maraschino cherry
- Fresh rosemary twigs
Substitutions And Additions
ICE CREAM: If you do not wish to add the vanilla ice cream, then I suggest you increase the amount of milk that you use to make your hot cocoa (you do not need to add more cocoa mix).
You may need to adjust your heat time accordingly. If you do not add the additional milk, then you will have a very drunk Rudolph.
MILK: When making your hot cocoa, please feel free to use whatever milk or non-milk product you prefer. I suggest full-fat versions of almond milk or oat milk.
The goal is that it is rich and creamy. Also, I would note that if you choose to use a dairy substitute, pick an unflavored version.
ALCOHOL: You can substitute Kahlua, Rum Chata, or any other creamy liqueur for the Bailey’s in this recipe to suit your flavor preferences.
How To Make This Drunken Rudolf Recipe
OUR RECIPE DEVELOPER SAYS
As always, you can make this a non-alcoholic version by just omitting the Baileys Irish Cream and the Fireball Whisky. The kiddies and grown-ups alike will have fun with this holiday drink.
Quick tip: Put cinnamon sticks as antlers for the non-alcoholic versions so that no one drinks the wrong one.
STEP ONE: In a large coffee mug, add two scoops of vanilla ice cream, Bailey’s Irish cream liqueur, and the Fireball cinnamon whisky. Set aside.
STEP TWO: In a microwave-safe, glass 2-cup measuring cup with a spout, pour in the whole milk and heat on high for 1 minute and 30 seconds (or longer if you desire your hot cocoa to be hotter).
Carefully remove it from the microwave and add the contents of your hot cocoa packet to the hot milk. Stir until no lumps remain.
STEP THREE: Carefully pour the hot cocoa into the large coffee mug with the ice cream and alcohol.
STEP FOUR: Garnish with a full topping of squirt whip cream, two sprigs of rosemary for the antlers, and one maraschino cherry for the nose.
