Substitutions And Additions

PINEAPPLE JUICE: I like to get the little mini (6-ounce) cans of pineapple juice to keep on hand in my pantry.

This way, I do not need to open a large bottle of pineapple juice if I am only using it to make a couple of cocktails.

How To Make This Gummy Bear Drink Recipe

Follow our step-by-step instructions to create the layers of this colorful drink.

STEP ONE: In the container of a blender, add the ice cubes, frozen strawberries, strawberry daiquiri mix, and triple sec liqueur for the red layer first.

Blend on high for 30 seconds to 1 minute or until smooth.

OUR RECIPE DEVELOPER SAYS

If you have an extra blender container, then I would use it so that you do not have to take the time to rinse between the red and yellow layers.

STEP TWO: Carefully pour half the red layer into the bottom of each glass. Try to be careful not to get any on the sides of the inside of the glasses.

PRO TIP:

We used two 10-ounce capacity highball glasses for this recipe.

STEP THREE: Rinse your blender container with cool water before adding the ingredients for the yellow layer.

STEP FOUR: Add the ice, frozen pineapple chunks, pineapple juice, and Malibu rum to the blender container. Blend on high for 30 seconds to 1 minute or until smooth.

STEP FIVE: Carefully and slowly pour the yellow layer onto the top of each of the red layers.

You can use a large spoon to gently add this layer so that you do not blend the colors too much.

PRO TIP:

You do not need to rinse your blender container at this point for the blue layer.

STEP SIX: Lastly, add the final ½ cup of ice and blue curacao to the blender container. Blend on high until smooth.

STEP SEVEN: Carefully and slowly add the blue layer to each of the gummy bear cocktails.

PRO TIP:

If you want your layers to be a little more blended (not completely combined), you can use a straw to gently stir your gummy bear cocktail. This will give it a subtle look to the changing of the colors/layers.

STEP EIGHT: Garnish with a cocktail skewer of a variety of colored gummy bears.
