Buffalo Chicken Dip:
What is Buffalo Chicken Dip you ask? First of all, it’s like heaven in a dish! You’ll never want a cold, refrigerated dip ever again after trying some delicious hot buffalo chicken dip on a tortilla chip.
Buffalo Chicken dip is a divine mixture of succulent shredded chicken breast meat, salty cheddar cheese, smooth cream cheese, hot buffalo wing sauce and cool ranch dressing. You mix all of this together in a baking dish and guess what? It recreates the flavors of buffalo chicken wings being dipped in ranch dressing.
It’s like oven witchcraft!
Who thought you could eat a buffalo chicken wing without actually eating a buffalo chicken wing?!
Buffalo Chicken Dip Ingredients You Will Need
- 2 8 ounce packages of cream cheese
- 2 cups of blue cheese crumbles
- 2 chicken breasts (poached & shredded or use canned chicken)
- 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup buffalo wing sauce
How to Bake Buffalo Chicken Dip in the Oven
To make traditional buffalo chicken dip in the oven, start by poaching and shredding your two chicken breasts (you could even get a cooked chicken from the rotisserie and shred it – or just use canned chicken).
Then heat the cream cheese in the microwave until it becomes soft and easily spreadable. Blend together the cream cheese, blue cheese crumbs, shredded chicken breast, shredded cheddar, and Franks red hot buffalo wing sauce. I used 1/4 cup but you can use more or less depending on your preference.
Put all of the buffalo chicken dip recipe into a baking dish and bake in the oven for 30 – 45 minutes until brown and crisp on top. Serve your fresh, homemade buffalo chicken dip recipe with celery sticks or toasted pita chips.
There’s no need to garnish the top!
How to Serve Buffalo Chicken Dip
There are so many ways that you can serve buffalo chicken dip — and that’s what makes it on of the best dip recipes to serve at parties.
You can’t go wrong pairing this dip with the solid, structural integrity of celery or carrot sticks. They won’t break like crackers. Cucumber slices work, too. And broccoli is another option (never tell my husband I said this).
Although I prefer it warm, you can serve your homemade buffalo chicken dip recipe hot, warm or cold, which means that it doesn’t even need to be freshly baked.
This will give you more time to get other appetizers ready. Some of my favorites that complement this recipe are our cream cheese dip so you have a non-spicy option that’s still addictive, and our cold crab dip, so you have a great cold dip option.
Little Smokies or devilled eggs are also classic additions to an appetizer menu that will never steer you wrong.
Stick a big ole dish of this buffalo chicken dip in the middle of the table surrounded by anything dippable and sharing just got a whole lot more fun!.
Make sure that you have a large bowl of the chips of your choosing right next to your buffalo chicken dip. And don’t forget to serve some sour cream or extra ranch for those who can’t handle the heat.
