Our easy buffalo chicken dip recipe is a divine mixture of succulent shredded chicken, salty cheddar cheese, smooth cream cheese, hot buffalo wing sauce, and blue cheese. This perfect appetizer recreates the flavors of buffalo chicken wings being dipped in blue cheese dressing.
Buffalo Chicken Dip Ingredients
- 2 (8-ounce) packages of cream cheese
- 2 cups of blue cheese crumbles
- 2 chicken breasts (poached & shredded or use canned chicken)
- 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup buffalo wing sauce
It’s best to shred the cheese yourself, store-bought shredded cheese is usually covered with a coating that means it doesn’t melt quite as well.
SUBSTITUTIONS AND ADDITIONS
CHICKEN: To make it even easier, you could get a cooked rotisserie chicken and shred it or just use canned chicken in this easy recipe.

There are so many ways that you can serve buffalo chicken dip — and that’s what makes it one of the best things to serve at parties. You can’t go wrong pairing this dip with celery or carrot sticks. Cucumber slices and raw broccoli work, too.
Although I prefer this easy appetizer warm, you can serve your homemade buffalo chicken dip recipe hot, warm or cold, which means that it doesn’t even need to be freshly baked.
IN THE FRIDGE: Leftover spicy buffalo chicken dip can be stored in the fridge in an airtight container or covered in plastic wrap for two to three days.
IN THE FREEZER: We don’t recommend freezing this creamy dip as all the creamy components may separate when thawed.
Stick a big old dish of this delicious dip in the middle of the table surrounded by anything dippable and sharing just got a whole lot more fun! And don’t forget to serve some sour cream or ranch dressing for those who can’t handle the heat.
