You’ll need:

  • ⅛ cup buttermilk powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon dry dill
  • ¼ teaspoon dried chives (or ½ teaspoon finely chopped fresh chives)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper

SUBSTITUTIONS AND ADDITIONS

BUTTERMILK POWDER: Dry buttermilk powder can typically be found in the baking aisle of most local grocery stores. Look near the regular powdered milk, evaporated milk, etc. to find it.

How to Make This Ranch Seasoning Recipe

PRO TIP:

A mason jar makes a great spice container for your homemade spice blends. They are easy to stack in your pantry or store in the fridge, and you can buy them in bulk for a reasonable price.

STEP ONE: Put all the ingredients in a small bowl.

PRO TIP:

If the powdered buttermilk is clumped, stir through a fine-mesh sieve to eliminate clumps.

How to Serve

Use the dry mix to season meats, pasta, or veggies, or whip it up into a ranch dip for a tasty option.

To prepare homemade ranch dressing from the dry seasoning, combine ½ cup sour cream, ½ cup mayonnaise, a squeeze of lemon, and 1 ounce of seasoning. Whisk in milk a tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.

Storage

IN THE FRIDGE: Store the dry ranch mix in an airtight container or small glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.

IN THE FREEZER: We do not recommend freezing this dry ranch mix. It is best to make it fresh and keep it in the fridge for a short time.
