  • ½ teaspoon of pure vanilla extract

Peanut Butter Mug Cake Recipe Substitutions And Additions

PEANUT BUTTER: You can substitute crunchy or chunky peanut butter for the creamy in a one-to-one ratio for this mug cake.

SUGAR: Try using brown sugar for a richer, more caramel like taste in your mug cake.

FLOUR: You can substitute four tablespoons of all-purpose flour and a quarter teaspoon of baking powder for the self-rising flour.

BUTTER: You can substitute an equal amount of vegetable oil for melted butter in this simple cake.

CHOCOLATE: Either mixed in or added on top, a tablespoon of chocolate chips or peanut butter chips make this mug cake recipe even more yummy.

COCOA POWDER: Add one to two tablespoons of cocoa powder to make this a chocolate peanut butter mug cake.

TOPPINGS: There are plenty of ways to customize your tasty cake. Add whipped cream, a drizzle of hot fudge sauce, and a maraschino cherry on top of the cake.

MILK: Whether you’re lactose intolerant or prefer non-dairy milk, you can easily swap out regular milk for almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk, or oat milk in equal amounts.

These alternatives will give your cake a slightly different flavor profile, making it suitable for various dietary preferences.

VANILLA EXTRACT: Experiment with different extracts to change the flavor. Try almond extract for a nuttier twist or coconut extract for a tropical touch.

Just remember that almond and coconut extract are potent, so start with a smaller quantity and adjust to taste.

SPICES: Experiment with different spices to elevate the taste. A pinch of nutmeg or a dash of cinnamon can bring warm, aromatic notes to your peanut butter cake.

Oh my goodness!! This cake is a peanut butter lover’s dream!! It’s so delicious!! But be careful when you eat it. It’s so good that you’ll want to eat it before it cools down. If that happens, it feels like you’re eating molten lava!! But oh so worth it!!
