You’ll need:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1½ cups Nutella hazelnut spread
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

SUBSTITUTIONS AND ADDITIONS

TOPPINGS: You can go as simple as a dusting of powdered sugar or as fancy as a scoop of ice cream and hot fudge on top of these decadent brownies. If you are making these during the holidays, you could sprinkle crushed candy canes or peppermint candies on top of the brownies.

CHOCOLATE CHIPS: You could mix ½ cup of chocolate chips into the batter. Choose regular chocolate, white chocolate, peanut butter, or even larger chocolate chunks.

NUTELLA: If you don’t have the name-brand Nutella, you can use any hazelnut spread for this recipe.

How to Make This Nutella Brownies Recipe

STEP ONE: Preheat oven to 350°F. Fit parchment paper to the bottom of an 8×8 square baking pan, leaving an overhang on two sides so you have a sort of “sling” and then spray with nonstick spray.

STEP TWO: Using the whisk attachment for your handheld mixer, beat the eggs for 8 minutes on medium-high speed. The eggs should triple in size and be pale in color.

STEP THREE: With your hand mixer on low speed, add the Nutella to the eggs and mix until just combined. You might need to stop and scrape the bowl a few times to fully mix in the Nutella.

Lastly, add your flour and mix on low until there are no lumps or visible flour and it looks uniform. Scrape the bowl down as needed.

STEP FOUR: Spread the brownie batter into your prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

OUR RECIPE DEVELOPER SAYS

Oven temperatures vary and may need to be recalibrated periodically to ensure they are accurate. Make sure to keep a close eye on your brownies as the suggested baking time approaches.

STEP FIVE: Let cool completely, and then remove them from the baking dish using the parchment sling. Dust with confectioner’s sugar, if desired, and cut into squares.

PRO TIP:

If you want nicely cut brownies, use a plastic knife instead of a regular one. The brownies will not tear and you will have nice straight lines.

How to Serve

Enjoy these deliciously chewy brownies when you need to satisfy your chocolate sweet tooth. If you are looking for an extra indulgent dessert, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a drizzle of hot fudge sauce, and a dollop of whipped cream to these tasty treats.
