Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

I’m sure we can all agree that peanut butter and chocolate are one of the most delicious pairings in the universe.

I could easily sit and eat peanut butter out of the container with a spoon all day I love it so much.

Not that I have ever done that… cough, cough.

When you add in a little bit of chocolate to the mix, I am over the moon.

I’ve always loved my Nannie’s classic peanut butter pie. It’s smooth and creamy and completely yummy.

But this decadent recipe takes no-bake up another level.

It’s quick and easy to make this homemade pie from scratch.

I know you’ll love the simple, rich flavor as much as I do.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Ingredients

Like any no-bake peanut butter pie recipe, you’ll need to gather a few basic ingredients.

Since this indulgent dessert comes together fast, it’s a great option for busy evenings or last-minute guests.

I also love taking it with me to parties because everyone thinks it’s the best dessert and it’s so simple for me to put together.

You’ll need:

  • ½ cup of milk
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 2/3 cup of peanut butter
  • 4 ounces of cream cheese
  • chocolate crust
  • whipped cream
  • chopped peanut butter cups

Delicious peanut butter makes this recipe an award-winning crowd-pleaser.

Peanut butter is such a versatile food — what else can you serve for breakfast to dessert and everything in between? It can be added to almost any meal or snack for a tasty, nutritious boost.

With each two-tablespoon serving, you’ll get eight powerful grams of protein, two grams of fiber, and 12 grams of unsaturated fat.

With busy, hungry, growing boys under my roof, I appreciate that it’s affordable as well.

You’ll need 2/3 cup peanut butter for this recipe, but you might want a little extra so you can take a couple of bites while you’re making your pie. 😉

How to Make Peanut Butter Pie Filling

Let’s get started with this treat!

A glass cup on a plate, with Butter and Pie

To create this old-fashioned, creamy, smooth dessert, you’ll begin by creaming the peanut butter, cream cheese, and powdered sugar. Next up, add the milk.

Once the filling is well mixed, pour into your crust.

Traditional peanut butter pie recipes are made with a graham cracker crust.

Our version uses a chocolate crust instead, which offers an even more delicious flavor combo in my opinion!

How Do You Freeze Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie?

Next, you’ll freeze for three hours before serving.

Remove from the freezer and thaw for 10 minutes before cutting to serve.

My boys love eating this frozen in the summertime.

It’s a great old-fashioned dessert idea for hot evenings in the backyard or at a potluck!

How to Serve Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

For our dessert, I serve with chopped peanut butter cups on top before serving.

You could also add extra whipped cream or drizzle with chocolate syrup.

You could also add more chopped nuts on top if you want.

There are lots of possibilities — maybe you should try them all to choose your favorite. 😉
