Table of Contents
This peach schnapps cocktail has a sweet and fruity flavor that makes for a light and refreshing drink after a long day of work. With its subtle sweetness, tangy orange and cranberry juices, and vibrant crimson and orange color, it’s sure to have you dreaming of a beautiful sunset.
Peach Schnapps Cocktail Ingredients
A peach schnapps cocktail is light, sweet, and fruity. The flavor is vibrant and smooth, with a subtle sweetness that lingers on the tongue.
The citrusy flavor of the orange juice mingles perfectly with the tart cranberry juice and sweet peach schnapps liqueur to create a lovely fruit flavor that is sure to delight.
You’ll need:
- 1 cup of ice
- ⅓ cup of fresh orange juice (pulp free)
- 1½ ounces of peach schnapps liqueur
- 1 ounce of silver (clear) rum
- 1 ounce of LITE (50% sugar) cranberry juice cocktail
- 1 slice of fresh peach to garnish the edge of your glass
Note: I use a LITE, or 50% less sugar, cranberry juice cocktail when adding it as a splash on the top of my cocktails.
The lower sugar amount allows it to “sit” on top of the other layers. The higher the sugar content in liquids makes them sink to the bottom of the glass, even if other “lower-sugar” layers are already in the glass.
PRO TIP:
I like using fresh orange juice that is pulp-free when making drinks like this peach cocktail. The “from concentrate” versions don’t yield the same delicious results as good quality fresh orange juice.
Substitutions And Additions for Peach Schnapps Drinks
PEACH SCHNAPPS: Be sure to use good quality peach schnapps for these peach schnapps drinks, as it is a very prominent flavor.
I like to use the DeKeuppers brand peach liqueur as it is easy to find, and the flavor is of good quality.
RUM: Be sure to use a good quality silver or clear rum for this delicious drink recipe. A dark or spiced rum will not yield the same taste as this easy recipe.
You could substitute vodka for silver rum if you prefer. The taste will be slightly different, but it will still taste good.
CRANBERRY JUICE: If you are not concerned with making beautiful layers for presentation purposes, a standard cranberry juice cocktail will be just fine.
The layers just make this drink look like the beautiful flesh of a fresh peach.
OTHER LIQUORS: While you can experiment with adding other liquors, keep in mind that adding too many might overpower the peach schnapps and alter the intended flavor of the cocktail.
How To Make This Peach Schnapps Cocktail Recipe
By adding the ingredients following the directions below, you will create a lovely layered cocktail that looks like the flesh of a peach. It creates stunning hues of oranges and reds to enjoy before you take a sip.
STEP ONE: Fill a lowball (12-ounce capacity) cocktail glass with ice cubes (approximately 1 cup).
OUR RECIPE DEVELOPER SAYS
Lowball glasses can come in a range of sizes. If you want to know how much liquid (or the capacity) your glass will hold, fill it with water, then pour that water into a liquid measuring glass.
This will tell you how many ounces/cups your glass can hold.
When you’re trying to figure out if your glass will work for your drink recipe, remember that you need to account for any ice you add to your glass.
STEP TWO: To the ice-filled glass, layer in the orange juice, peach schnapps, and silver rum.
STEP THREE: Top it with the cranberry juice cocktail. Be sure to pour slowly to create a slightly layered look for your drink.
STEP FOUR: Garnish the rim of your glass with a fresh peach slice.
PRO TIP:
While the layered look is visually appealing, this summer cocktail should be gently stirred before serving to blend the flavors together for the best taste.
