Dill Pickle Dip Ingredients

You’ll need:
- 16 ounces sour cream
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- Ranch seasoning (or 1 packet of ranch seasoning mix)
- 9-ounce package of deli-sliced honey ham, chopped
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 2 cups chopped dill pickles (about 20-ounce jar)
PRO TIP:
You can use pre-packaged ham or purchase ham by the pound from the deli. I liked the honey ham for contrast with the sour dill pickles in this perfect dip.
SUBSTITUTIONS AND ADDITIONS
ONIONS: Two sliced green onions – use the green parts only – makes about 2 heaping tablespoons of onion slices. You could substitute very finely chopped red onion for the green onion in this cream cheese dip.
How To Make This Dill Pickle Dip Recipe
STEP ONE: In a large bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and ranch dressing mix until smooth.
PRO TIP:
The cream cheese should be softened to room temperature so that it beats into the sour cream smoothly.

STEP TWO: Use a rubber spatula to stir in the chopped deli ham, sliced green onions, and chopped pickles.
PRO TIP:
You can vary the amount of ham and pickles in this easy recipe. The amounts listed here were a good balance, but there are enough creamy ingredients that you could add even more ham and chopped pickles.

STEP THREE: Transfer to a serving dish and top with a few chopped pickles and green onion slices.

STEP FOUR: Serve with butter crackers (Ritz), Triscuits, or your favorite potato chips.
How To Serve
This perfect appetizer is just the right accompaniment to fresh veggies, pita chips, and salty potato chips. If this tasty dip is on your menu for a party, don’t forget to add other great appetizers, including cucumber bites and buffalo chicken meatballs.

IN THE FREEZER: Due to the high cream cheese and sour cream content, this chip dip does not freeze well.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
This easy dip can be made up to a day ahead of time. The longer it stays in the fridge, the more flavorful it will become.
We don’t recommend freezing this dill pickle ranch dip as the sour cream and cream cheese won’t retain the creamy texture once thawed.
This dill pickle dip with ham can be customized to your liking. Try adding bacon and raw chopped celery for two great additions.

Yes I love pickles. At age 8 I ate a whole jar of dill pickles at one sitting. Boy did I have to sit in a corner that day! Your recipe will be one of my favorites. I have made many jars of bread and butter pickles, but could never get the hang of making a good dill pickle.

I am truly a big fan of pickles, this is delicious and I tried it with hot habanero pickles. Hit of the party, will use a lot, and with many different flavor pickles.
