Pigs in a blanket are a savory treat that will have you coming back for more! The combination of a flaky crescent roll pastry wrapped around the juicy, flavorful cocktail wieners is simply mouthwatering.

The crispy exterior of the pastry provides a satisfying crunch, while the warm, juicy hot dog inside is bursting with flavor.

You’ll need:

  • 1 tube of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls, 8 crescents in a package
  • 24 cocktail wieners
  • ¼ cup of melted butter
  • ½ teaspoon of garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon of salt

Substitutions And Additions

CRESCENT ROLLS: While there are other brands of crescent rolls out there, I have found that none work quite as well for this homemade pigs in a blanket recipe as the Pillsbury brand does!

HOT DOGS: You can substitute 6 regular hot dogs cut into quarters in place of the small cocktail sausages for this easy recipe.

How To Make This Pigs In A Blanket Recipe

All you need to do to make this easy appetizer is wrap each cocktail wiener in a piece of crescent roll dough. Top the bundles with a buttery garlic mixture and bake until golden brown.

PRO TIP:

You could get all the wieners wrapped in the crescent dough and onto the baking sheet ahead of time. Cover in plastic wrap and store in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Brush with the garlic butter and bake when you are ready to serve them.

STEP ONE: Preheat the oven to 375°F.

STEP TWO: Roll out the crescent roll dough and cut each of the 8 triangles into three smaller triangles. You’ll end up with 24 small triangles.

PRO TIP:

A pizza cutter makes cutting the crescent dough easy!

STEP THREE: Roll a cocktail wiener into each triangle. Start rolling at the largest side of the triangle and end at the smallest side.
