Chicken Roll-Ups Ingredients

Chicken Roll-Ups raw ingredients that are labeled

You’ll need:

  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken breasts
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 (1-ounce) envelope ranch dressing dry mix or homemade ranch seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper
  • 2 (8-ounce) cans of crescent rolls (I used Grands crescent roll dough)
  • 4 tablespoons salted sweet cream butter, melted

SUBSTITUTIONS AND ADDITIONS

CHICKEN: PIck up a rotisserie chicken at the grocery store for the shredded chicken to make this easy recipe even easier.

HAM: Make these extra tasty by adding a slice of ham on the crescent roll along with the chicken mixture.

CHEESE: Cheddar gives you the perfect cheesy taste in this great recipe, but you could also use mozzarella cheese or a combination of cheese for the ultimate in ooey-gooey flavor.

How To Make This Chicken Roll-Ups Recipe

PRO TIP:

Double your recipe for the chicken mixture and freeze it. This will allow you to whip up even more delicious chicken crescent roll-ups later.

STEP ONE: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and set it aside.

STEP TWO: Using a medium bowl and a handheld mixer on medium-high speed, beat the cream cheese until smooth.

PRO TIP:

Make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature so that you don’t end up with lumps in your mixture.

STEP THREE: Add the ranch dressing mix, kosher salt, and cracked black pepper. Continue mixing just until the ingredients are well incorporated.

STEP FIVE: Unroll the first canister of crescent dough. Slightly flatten the first triangle. Scoop out 2 tablespoons of the chicken filling onto the wider top of the triangle. Roll the dough towards the tip of the triangle. Once rolled, tuck the open ends under, slightly pinching the dough to seal. Repeat for the remaining dough triangles and the second canister.

STEP SIX: Bake for 22 to 25 minutes, until golden brown.

PRO TIP:

Keep an eye on the bottoms of the crescent rolls as you don’t want them to burn.

STEP SEVEN: Using a pastry brush, brush each of the roll-ups with melted butter.

I think these would be great made with leftover game hens, Turkey, Duck or Goose. There are a lot of different ideas I can come up with for these.
