PARMESAN PORK CHOPS INGREDIENTS

You will need:

  • 4 boneless pork chops, 1 inch thick
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • ¼ cup Italian seasoned dry bread crumbs
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ tsp dried parsley
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • olive oil

SUBSTITUTIONS AND ADDITIONS

BONE-IN PORK CHOPS: The below instructions are for boneless pork chops, but you can also make this recipe with bone-in chops. Follow the same directions but bake them for longer. Depending on how thick your pork chops are, bake them for up to 45 – 50 minutes, until cooked through.

MAYO: This tasty twist adds mayo for a creamy base under the breadcrumbs. Before dipping your pork chops in breadcrumbs, spread mayo on each side. You’ll need 3 – 4 tbsp of mayo total.

BREAD CRUMBS: For added crunch in your crispy parmesan crust, you could use panko bread crumbs instead of Italian bread crumbs. If you only have plain bread crumbs, you could also make a homemade mix by adding Italian seasoning yourself.

HOW TO MAKE THIS PARMESAN PORK CHOPS RECIPE

STEP 1: Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9 x 9-inch baking dish with foil.

PRO TIP: Lining the pan with foil will make clean up much easier.

STEP 2: On a large plate or shallow dish, mix bread crumbs, seasonings and parmesan cheese.

STEP 3: Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and then rub each one with olive oil.

STEP 4: Dip pork chops in the breadcrumb mixture on the plate one at a time. Press one side of the pork chop and then the other, making sure to fully cover each one.

STEP 5: Add the pork chops to the baking pan and bake in the preheated oven for 30 – 40 minutes.

PRO TIP: The cooking time for your pork chops will vary depending on how thick they are. Use a meat thermometer to check that they are cooked through (internal temperature of at least 145°F).

FAQ

Can I cook these pork chops on the stove?

Yes, this recipe can be adapted to cook on your stove top. Instead of adding the pork chops to a baking pan, once they’re breaded, add them to a large skillet with some olive oil. Cook for 4 – 5 minutes on each side over medium high heat, until the juices run clear. You can also pan fry these pork chops in a skillet for several minutes and then throw them in the oven to finish cooking. This allows the chops to get a nice sear and then cook up to the correct temperature, an internal temperature of 145°F.

How do I store these pork chops?

Any leftovers from this easy recipe can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days and in the freezer for up to three months.

Can I use bone-in pork chops for this recipe instead?

You can also make this recipe with bone-in chops. Follow the same directions but bake them for longer. Depending on how thick your pork chops are, bake them for up to 45 – 50 minutes, until cooked through.
