Substitutions & Additions for Ritz Chicken

ONION POWDER: You can use onion flakes as a substitute for onion powder. Use a 1:1 ratio.

CHICKEN BREASTS: Use chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts as a great substitute. Some people like dark meat better than white, and they cook up juicy too.

CHEESE: Cheese is always a great addition to any recipe. There are a couple of different ways to incorporate cheese in this recipe. You could add parmesan cheese to your spice/crumb mixture or you could sprinkle cheddar cheese on top of the chicken at the end of baking for a gooey melted topper.

I have been making this chicken for years and even my 5 year old granddaughter requests it for dinner when she is here. My twist on this recipe is use the Garlic Ritz crackers instead of the plain Ritz crackers. It adds that extra flavor!! Enjoy!

I am allergic to onion. Can I just leave the the onion powder out, or do I need to substitute something for onion? One of my friends mother use to make chicken rolled in Ritz crackers, but, I never had the recipes. I am so glad to find this. That has been over 60 years ago, so I hope it taste as good as I remember. Thank you for posting this!
