You will need:

  • 2 cans crescent rolls
  • 2 cups shredded cooked turkey
  • 1 4-ounce can diced green chilies
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 package taco seasoning, or 3 tablespoons
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  •  lettuce and salsa for topping

PRO TIP: You can bake your turkey breast in the oven, or in your Instant Pot, or use leftovers!

ADD: You could also add whole corn and/or black beans into the shredded turkey for an extra flavor!

OPTIONAL TOPPINGS: We love to serve with salsa, lettuce, olives, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, diced tomatoes, or green onions.

WHY TURKEY?

Of course, turkey is a holiday favorite but our family loves enjoying turkey year-round — it’s delicious, healthy and versatile. It’s naturally low in fat and provides immune-boosting nutrients like iron, zinc, and potassium. Plus it’s naturally high in B vitamins, which your body needs to help produce energy.

Turkey is packed with lean protein to keep people feeling full longer. In fact, 50 percent of your daily value of lean protein is found in a single serving of turkey.

Turkey is a great meat to season or marinade as well, which is one of the reasons why it’s perfect for this recipe I’m sharing with you today! It takes on those tasty seasonings and offers a bold, authentic taste that everyone will love.

HOW TO MAKE A TURKEY TACO RING

STEP ONE: In a large skillet add the water, shredded turkey, green chilies and taco seasoning. Cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes or until the turkey reheated. Remove from heat and set aside.

DON’T FORGET: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.

STEP TWO: On an ungreased large cookie sheet, arrange crescent dough triangles in a ring so the short sides of triangles form a 6-inch circle in the center. The dough will overlap and that’s ok!

PRO TIP: Placing a small bowl in the center will help you arrange the crescent dough.

STEP THREE: Spoon the turkey meat over the wide section of the roll close to the center.

STEP FOUR: Sprinkle cheese on top.

STEP FIVE: Bring each triangle tip up over the filling, tucking it under the bottom layer of dough to secure it.

HOW LONG TO BAKE

STEP SIX: Bake for 20-25 minutes or until ring turns a golden brown. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before slicing.

What to Serve with Your Turkey Taco Ring

I love to place a bowl salsa in the center of the ring for dipping. You can also garnish with shredded lettuce if desired.

I also won’t say no to ooey, gooey cheese dip, homemade ranch crack dip, some cool sour cream, and creamy guac along with this!
