Delicious! My husband loves this recipe!
Gerri says
Since this cut over tends to get a little tuff for chewing could I add a little red wine to the cooking process
Layne Kangas says
Hi, Gerri – it wasn’t tough for us, but you could add red wine if you wanted to. I would recommend between 1/3 – 2/3 of a cup, depending on preference. Enjoy.

I never leave comments and I always flavor to my personal preference, BUT, I felt compelled to share that this recipe is absolutely amazing. It is so worth adding to your rotation and I highly recommend it. My step son has literally eaten it for every meal for 2 days straight and told me that he even dreamt about it lol. He’s not hard to please, however, he typically doesn’t eat leftovers so I know that’s saying something! Definitely a “staple” in our family dinner rotation now 🙂
Nicole Vandervest says
I will say that I used stew meat for it in the instant pot And because of that, I cooked it for 23 mins…it melted in our mouth. Delicious. I also had to add more corn starch but that’s only because I 1.5 times the recipe so it was a guessing game. AND…our family likes or pretty thick – but the recipe was awesome and spot on!!!
Alysha says
Wondering if this could be made in a slow cooker by chance?
Layne Kangas says
Hi, Alysha – we haven’t tried doing this as a slow cooker recipe yet so I’m not sure what adjustments would need to be made for it to turn out correctly. If you try, please let me know!
SUSAN LUCE says
This is delicious just as it is. A new favorite!
Leila T says
I made this in the crockpot on low for 8 hours. Threw it all in without cooking meat first. Added dissolved cornstarch as directed for the last 15 mins. Served over red bliss mashed potatoes….it was ridiculously good! And so easy!
Ella Ignace says
Did you defrost your meat before throwing it in?
Lisa says

Renee says
OMG this recipe is bang on.
Meat was super tender and the flavours were wonderful!
This recipe will be in my regular comfort food meal rotation.
Jesse Fontenot says
This recipe is excellent. I typically double the recipe and I add three cans of sliced mushrooms and much more Worcestershire. Seasoning to taste.

This was the tastiest beef tips I ever tasted! I served them over buttered noodles!
