Substitutions and Additions
SIDES FOR DIPPING: Wondering what to dip in your cheese fondue? Regular tortilla chips, lime-flavored chips, cheese puffs, corn chips, soft pretzels, and bread are some of my go-to options for what to serve with this dip.
EXTRA INGREDIENTS: You could also add other ingredients to this to take it up a notch. I’ve had friends change up this recipe and add things like cream cheese, chili, salsa, corn, jalapeños, or sausage.
SPICY: Add an extra spicy kick to this cheesy dip with a dash of hot sauce or cayenne pepper.
TOPPINGS: Take this dip even further with even more cheese on top. Try shredded cheese such as Pepper Jack, Monterey Jack or sharp cheddar cheese. Add a sprinkle of green onions too.
How To Make This Cheese Dip Recipe
STEP ONE: Cut the cheese into cubes and place them in a microwave-safe bowl.
STEP TWO: Pour in the tomatoes and green chiles, leaving in the juices.
PRO TIP:
Don’t drain your tomatoes or chilies before adding them to the bowl. You want all those yummy and flavorful juices as part of your dip.
STEP THREE: Microwave on high in 1-minute intervals until cheese is melted, stirring in between.
