This moist banana bread features the classic flavors everyone loves, with one exception: it has bursts of mini peanut butter cups in every bite.

You’ll need:

  • 28 mini peanut butter cups, divided into 22 and 6
  • 2½ cups + 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour, divided into 2½ cups and 1 tablespoon
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon of kosher salt
  • ½ cup of unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup of bananas, mashed (about 3 medium-sized bananas)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • ½ cup of whole milk

PRO TIP:

For the best banana flavor for your bread, use very ripe or overripe bananas. They should be at least 80% brown and very soft. When bananas are still a green/bright yellow color, their sugars have not developed enough, and that delicious banana flavor does not shine through in your bread.

Substitutions And Additions

PEANUT BUTTER CUPS: If you cannot find Reese’s mini cups, you could use full-sized peanut butter cups and cut them into appropriately sized pieces.

NUTS: For a nice crunch, you can add chopped nuts to your bread.

CHOCOLATE CHIPS: Add chocolate or Reese’s peanut butter chips for even more decadence to your yummy bread.

How To Make This Reese’s Peanut Butter Banana Bread Recipe

Dive in and whip up the simple batter for the bread, and don’t forget to mix in the peanut butter cups!

STEP ONE: Remove the wrappers of the mini Reese’s cups and cut 22 of them into quarters, and place them into a small bowl with one tablespoon of flour.

Gently toss them to coat them with the flour. Cut the remaining six in half and set them aside in another small bowl to top your bread before baking.

To make cutting the mini Reese’s cups into quarters and halves easier, unwrap them and then place them into the freezer for 15 minutes. When they are cold, they are much easier to cut. Also, make sure to use a sharp or serrated knife.

STEP TWO: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine 2½ cups of all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set the dry ingredients aside.

STEP THREE: In a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed, cream together the butter and sugar.

Add your eggs, banana, and vanilla extract. Mix the wet batter until combined.

STEP FOUR: Add the flour mixture and the milk to the butter and banana mixture alternately, starting and ending with the flour mixture.

Mix on low speed, being careful not to over-mix the batter.

STEP FIVE: Using a spatula, gently fold the quartered mini Reese’s cups into the batter.

STEP SIX: Evenly spread batter into a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan sprayed with baking spray and lined with parchment paper.

Gently place the remaining mini Reese’s candies that were cut into halves onto the top of the bread batter.

You will want to arrange them nicely for presentation purposes.

PRO TIP:

You can buy loaf pan parchment liners to make lining your pans quick and easy.

STEP SEVEN: Bake in an oven preheated to 350°F for 60 to 70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the bread comes out clean.

Check the bread at 45 minutes, and if it is getting too brown, you can lightly tent it with aluminum foil to prevent over-browning.
