You’ll need:

  • 40 square mini pretzels
  • 20 yellow candy melts (or whatever candy melt color matches your décor)
  • 20 blue candy melts
  • 40 small candy eyes

PRO TIP:

The quantities for this recipe are not specific. If you want to make more or less, you can. Just adjust the number of ingredients accordingly. For the candy melts, any combination of colors works fine!

SUBSTITUTIONS AND ADDITIONS

PRETZELS: You can use crossed or round pretzels if you prefer for these spooky treats. I like the pretzel squares because they work well with the candy melts. Do not use butter-flavored pretzels.

CANDY WAFERS: If you want to use different colors for this Halloween pretzel recipe, the sky’s the limit! You can use any color you can find at the store and customize the treat to the holiday or event you are planning.

How To Make This Monster Pretzels Recipe

STEP ONE: Preheat the oven to 350°F.

STEP TWO: Place pretzels in a single layer on a cookie sheet lined with a silicone baking mat.

OUR RECIPE DEVELOPER SAYS

You can also use a piece of parchment paper on the baking sheet. The mat won’t slide, though, so it is preferable.

STEP THREE: Place a candy melt in the middle of each pretzel.

STEP FOUR: Bake in the oven for 5 minutes or until candy begins to melt (this goes quickly, so keep an eye on it).

STEP FIVE: Immediately add a candy eye to each pretzel. Do this while the candy melts are still soft enough to press the candy eyes into it.

STEP SIX: Let the treats cool.

PRO TIP:

Be sure to let the candy melts set fully before you package or store your monster pretzel bites, otherwise, they’ll smudge and stick.

STEP SEVEN: Serve and enjoy.

How To Serve

These pretzels are the perfect Halloween treat. Whether you are serving them at a party or giving them away in goodie bags, everyone will love this “scary” treat. Add a handful of pretzels to cellophane bags and tie them with an orange ribbon.

For more ghoulish treats, our bat cupcakes and Halloween sugar cookies are especially fun.

Storage

IN THE FRIDGE: You can store this easy treat for a week or two in an airtight container in the fridge.

IN THE FREEZER: We don’t recommend freezing this fun treat, as the pretzels may get soggy once thawed.

These monstrously delicious Halloween pretzel monster eyeballs are perfect for your next Halloween party. They’re easy to make and will definitely be a hit with your guests. So get ready to sink your teeth into this spooky and salty snack!
