Funfetti Dip Ingredients

You’ll need:

  • 4 ounces of cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 (8-ounce) tub of Cool Whip whipped topping
  • 1 box funfetti cake mix
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Substitutions And Additions

CAKE: You could substitute a different box of cake mix in this fun recipe. Pick your favorite cake flavor such as cherry chip for another fun spin on this treat.

SPRINKLES: Mix in extra sprinkles or add rainbow sprinkles on top of your funfetti cake mix dip before serving this delicious dessert dip.

How To Make This Funfetti Dip Recipe

STEP ONE: Before adding the raw cake mix, it is important to heat treat it. Pour the dry cake mix into a medium-sized heat-safe bowl. Microwave the cake mix in two 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval. Allow the cake mix to cool completely before mixing it into the cream cheese.

Since the cake mix has uncooked raw flour in it that may have pathogens in it, it makes it not safe to consume raw. Heating it in the microwave will kill any pathogens and make it safe to use in this no-bake recipe.

STEP TWO: In a mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the cream cheese and whipped topping until it the mixture is smooth.

PRO TIP:

Make sure that your cream cheese and butter are very soft before mixing for a super smooth and creamy dip.

STEP THREE: Add the box of cake mix and half of the heavy cream and mix, gradually adding in a bit more cream until you’ve reached the desired texture for the dip.

PRO TIP:

This delicious dip can be served immediately or stored in the refrigerator, in a covered container, if made ahead. If you do put it into the refrigerator for longer than 30 minutes, you may need to let it sit on the counter for 5 to 10 minutes to warm up a little prior to serving. Give it a good stir as well.

How To Serve

My favorite dippers with the funfetti cake dip are animal crackers but anything that’s crunchy and a little sweet will be perfect. You can enjoy it with animal crackers, teddy grahams, graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or even fresh fruit.

If I want to be on the “healthier side” I will serve my funfetti dip with fresh fruit. I especially think it pairs well with fresh pineapple, strawberries, or grapes.

This is the perfect sweet dip would be a great option to serve at birthday parties with its rainbow of color bits and it will be a sure crowd-pleaser.

Storage

IN THE FRIDGE: It’s best to store funfetti dip in an airtight container and keep it cool in the fridge. If you plan to serve it again, take it out about 5 minutes before serving it to let it soften just a little bit — and make it easier for dipping.

IN THE FREEZER: We don’t recommend freezing this tasty cake batter dip as the texture will change once thawed.

This is a no bake dessert dip that is sooooo delicious! It’s just as good as the batter itself, and the best part is you can feel free to eat as much as you want, unlike the actual cake batter itself. With only four ingredients it is ready in no time and it’s a sweet treat that not only do the kids go crazy for, but adults will love it too.
