With its festive appearance and playful name, this cocktail will surely bring a smile to your face at your Easter brunch or other special occasion.

Upon taking your first sip, the sweetness from the strawberry daiquiri mix hits your taste buds first, followed by the tangy and zesty flavor from the lemonade.

The whimsical marshmallow PEEPS and fresh fruit will add plenty of spring vibes while you sip away.

You’ll need:

  • 1¾ cups of premade old-fashioned lemonade
  • 3 ounces of white rum
  • 2 tablespoons of strawberry daiquiri mixer
  • Ice for the glasses
  • Garnish: Yellow or Pink PEEPS Bunny candy, fresh lemon slices & fresh strawberries

PRO TIP:

If you like your cocktails slightly sweeter, you can add a teaspoon or two of simple syrup or light agave syrup to your individual drinks. These can just be stirred right into your drinks as they dissolve quickly.

Granulated sugar does not work as well because it does not dissolve well in cold beverages.

Substitution And Additions For This Easter Cocktail

RUM: You can substitute the white rum for a good quality vodka in this recipe. You can also get creative and use a strawberry flavor-infused rum or vodka for this. Vanilla vodka would also be delicious.

In this recipe, we used the Bacardi Superior brand. You may hear it called silver or clear rum, too.

DAIQUIRI MIX: We used Bacardi frozen, which was thawed first.

FRUIT JUICES: Adding carrot juice or pineapple juice is also a popular choice. You could finish your drink with fresh lemon juice or lime juice. A lemon slice would be a nice garnish, too.

LEMONADE: I get my old-fashioned lemonade from my local grocery store deli section.

However, if yours does not carry it, you can get your favorite brand of premade lemonade for this tasty cocktail.

You could also swap out the traditional lemonade for homemade pineapple lemonade or strawberry lemonade. If you make this swap, I suggest sticking to the standard white rum for your cocktail.

GINGER BEER: For extra fizz, you could add a splash of ginger beer, ginger ale, or sparkling water.

HERBS: For a different aroma and taste, basil or fresh mint leaves can be used as garnish. These pair well with the citrus and sweet components, providing a fresh, herbal note.

ORANGE LIQUEUR: An orange liqueur can be added to the cocktail for a boozy kick with a citrus note. It complements the other flavors well, enhancing the flavor complexity.

This addition is perfect for creating a more robust and flavorful drink. Adjust the amount of other sweeteners accordingly, as orange liqueur adds sweetness and alcohol.

How To Make This Drunk Bunny Easter Drink Recipe

Before adding it to your glass, this drink will come together quickly in a cocktail shaker. Enjoy sweet sips while you watch the kiddos enjoy an egg hunt! Garnish with fresh fruit and the marshmallow bunny, and enjoy!

STEP ONE: Add the lemonade, white rum, and strawberry daiquiri mixer to a cocktail shaker or a large mason jar with a lid.

Shake well for about 30 seconds to combine.

PRO TIP:

I like to keep the frozen Bacardi mixers stocked in my freezer so that I can make a cocktail at a moment’s notice.

Once you open the container, transfer the remaining thawed strawberry daiquiri mixer to a jar with a tight-fitting lid and store it in your refrigerator for up to two weeks. Mason jars work great for this.

STEP TWO: Fill your cocktail glass three-quarters full with ice and pour eight ounces of the drunk bunny cocktail into each glass.

PRO TIP:

If you do not like ice in your cocktail glass, you can add it to your cocktail shaker or large mason jar and then strain your drunk bunny drink into your individual glasses, leaving the ice in the shaker.

STEP THREE: Garnish your glasses with sliced strawberry and lemon inside of the drink and a PEEPS bunny on the rim.

How To Serve This Easter Bunny Cocktail

Easter celebrations are the perfect opportunity to enjoy these delightful pink cocktails. They are refreshing, sweet, and vibrant.

if you’re feeling adventurous, why not try whipping up some homemade carrot cake or carrot cake cookies to complement the cocktail’s festive bunny theme?

If you have little ones as your guests, you can make a non-alcoholic drink for them with either plain or strawberry lemonade, or even our raspberry lemonade, and add the cute marshmallow PEEP to garnish.

Our pink starburst cocktail and wine slushies are two more bright and colorful alcoholic drinks that are great choices for sharing with friends.

Storing This Drink For Easter

We have a few handy tips for storing this cocktail:

IN THE FRIDGE: If you are serving a crowd, you can make a large batch of tipsy bunny Easter cocktails and store it in a pitcher in the fridge for a day or two until you are ready to serve.

IN THE FREEZER: We don’t recommend freezing this cocktail. It is best made fresh.

OUR RECIPE DEVELOPER SAYS

You can make a larger batch of this perfect Easter cocktail ahead of time and store it in a pitcher until ready to serve individual drinks.

You must double or triple the recipe according to the number of drinks you want to serve.

Do not add the ice until you are ready to drink; it will dilute your drunk bunny cocktail as the ice melts.

Hi, Pat – we haven’t tried that yet but I would assume you could blend everything instead of leaving the ice in cubes. Please let me know if you try it out. Enjoy!
