Would you like a quick and popular kids party food idea for that upcoming birthday boys celebration? Smores have proven their popularity with kids of all ages. In fact, the first recorded version of a smores recipe was way back in 1927and theyre still going strong. Every once in a while youll see a tasty, new variation; with peanut butter, chocolate and marshmallows, I think this is one of them! You might even be able to skip the birthday cake
- Easy Oven S’mores are perfect for a rainy day.
- Indulge in a sweat treat for breakfast with these Easy S’mores Muffins.
For a single serving youll need:
- 2 Grandmas brand peanut butter cookies (you could make your own but Im voting for the quick version!)
- ½ Hersheys milk chocolate bar
- 1 large marshmallow
If you are doing a campfire, roast the marshmallow but use the peanut butter cookies instead of graham crackers. Easy.
Would you rather use the microwave? Put one cookie on a plate or paper towel. Stack it with the chocolate and marshmallow. Microwave for 10-15 seconds and then top it with another cookie. Let this splendid confection set for about a minute and prepare to indulge. And then make another one!
Since smores are a favorite treat idea, at your next gathering consider setting up a smores bar with a variety of options. There are a number of cookie flavors that work perfectly for smores. Just remember they will hold together better if you use drier, more firm cookies. You can also add a layer of fruit. Banana, strawberry and cherry are three of my favorite options. Flavored chocolates infuse smores with delicious nuances that especially appeal to the moms and dads at the party. Try these: mocha, cayenne, blueberry, mint and dark chocolate. Party guests will definitely be asking for smore!
