The combination of sweet strawberry flavor, creamy milk, and a hint of vanilla is sure to make your taste buds tingle with delight.

Each sip reveals a burst of bright strawberry flavor, paired with a smooth and refreshing texture that is perfect for a hot summer day.

You’ll need:

  • 14-ounce can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 8-ounce tub of whipped topping, thawed
  • ½ gallon of whole milk
  • ¾ cup of Hershey’s strawberry syrup
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract

Substitutions And Additions

STRAWBERRY MILK: If you have a favorite brand of premade strawberry milk, you can certainly use that and omit the addition of strawberry syrup. If it is not very pink, you can add a drop or two of red liquid food coloring or a couple of tablespoons of strawberry syrup to increase the strawberry flavor and add that pretty pink color.

MILK: You can substitute 2% milk in this strawberry shake recipe if that is what you keep on hand in your refrigerator.

SYRUP: You can substitute any brand of strawberry syrup that you can find in the grocery store to make flavored milk in this recipe.

How to Make This Strawberry Frosty Recipe

Mix up all of the creamy ingredients in a bowl and chill. Before you know it, you’ll be sipping on this refreshing treat.

STEP ONE: In an 8 to 10-cup capacity large mixing bowl, stir together the sweetened condensed milk and thawed whipped topping.

STEP THREE: Pour the strawberry milk mixture into the whipped topping mixture. Stir well to ensure that all the ingredients are well combined.

STEP FOUR: Transfer the strawberry Frosty mixture into a large freezer-safe container and cover it with a lid or plastic wrap.

PRO TIP:

If you don’t have a freezer-safe container large enough to hold all the Frosty mixture, divide it into 2 or 3 smaller batches to put in the freezer. Make sure you don’t fill the container to the very top, the mixture will expand a bit as it freezes. If you freeze the Frosty mixture in smaller batches, the freeze time will be slightly shorter.

STEP FIVE: Place the container into the freezer for a minimum of 3 to 6 hours or up to overnight. You will need a longer freeze time if you have all of your mixture in one large container. The smaller containers will freeze faster.

STEP SIX: Stir your strawberry Frosty mixture every 1 to 2 hours to break up any larger icy chunks until you get your desired consistency.

PRO TIP:

You can allow your strawberry Frosty mixture to freeze overnight without stirring every couple of hours. It will NOT freeze solid. You will just need to allow it to rest on the counter to thaw slightly so that you can stir it up well and break up the larger ice crystals. Just keep stirring until you get a smoother consistency.

STEP SEVEN: Spoon the strawberry Frosty mixture into a glass and enjoy.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can you store this Wendy’s strawberry Frosty in the refrigerator?

We wouldn’t recommend storing this amazing treat in the fridge as it will melt into a soupy drink. Instead, store in the freezer and let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes to return to desired consistency.

Can I make this creamy treat in vanilla flavor?

You can make a creamy vanilla Frosty version treat by omitting the strawberry syrup from the mixture.

What is the secret ingredient that makes this taste like a Wendy’s Frosty?

The secret key ingredient is vanilla extract. It alters the flavor of the creamy mixture to give it a malt-like taste.
