Storage

These great bars store well. Here are some tips for keeping them fresh long enjoy to enjoy them all.

ON THE COUNTER: Blondies are the perfect counter treat—they taste great when left out at room temperature.

To keep them fresh, wrap them tightly in plastic wrap, foil, or store them in an airtight container.

Stored this way, they should stay fresh for about three days if your family doesn’t get to them first!

IN THE FRIDGE: If you want to keep them for longer, this easy blondie recipe can be stored in the fridge for a week.

IN THE FREEZER: Store in the freezer for up to three months. Thaw on the counter when you are ready to serve them.

You can eat them cold, however, pop them in the microwave in 15-second increments to make them soft and delicious once again.

So easy to prepare and absolutely delicious! They turned out a little too crunchy for my test so I won’t cook as long next time. This is a keeper.

I made these tonight and they were delicious! And not to mention easy!! I was craving some blondies ( I normally have a box of TJ mix in our cupboard) but these were better! Definitely making this a staple in our house. Thanks for the recipe!

  2. Lance says

Under Step 5 it shows a picture of the blondies ready to be baked and it says to bake at 350 deg. for 40-43 minutes. In the printed recipe below it says to bake for 30 min at 350. Which time should it be?

  3. Claire says

I made these tonight for my family. They were excellent. I love chewy cookies and these were perfection. I will definitely be making them again. Thank you!

I would add all 3 suggestions, just to make the taste so much more decadent!!! Or even just with dark chocolate chips with caramel sauce… MMMMM YUMMY!!!!

  5. kesha says

Excellent, absolutely excellent recipe, wife and l doubled the recipe and used a 9X13 came out perfect except we used the same amount of chocolate chips.

  7. Tracy says

    5 stars
I would use milk chocolate chunks for these blondies and no nuts or caramel sauce. I would, however, have plenty of vanilla bean ice cream on hand to have alongside a nice warm, rich, gooey blondie!

  8. Tess says

    5 stars
I love these because they’re so easy and hubby loves these too!!
I like to trade out the chips with different types but the chocolate are my favorite!

Hello I would not add carmel sauce they are perfect already, I use Nestke choc chips. I also prefer no nuts,
    thanks for the great recipe

  10. Cheryl Dunkelberger says

I would probably use Toll House chocolate chips and would definitely add chopped walnuts to the batter. I love that this recipe makes an 8″ x 8″ pan rather than 9 x 13 which is just too much for my husband and myself

  11. Andrea says

    5 stars
I used butterscotch chocolate chips and those made this recipe delish!!
Thanks for sharing the recipe; my family loved them!

  12. Christy says

I’m definitely going to make these soon! I love that you don’t have to bust out a mixer to make them. It seems very simple and straightforward ingredients and instructions. I’m thinking I’ll add some peanut butter or white chocolate chips too! My family doesn’t care for nut so I’ll probably leave them out. But the Caramel (or chocolate) drizzle sounds good!

  13. Pauline Gudas says

    5 stars
I made these with dark chocolate espresso chips and walnuts. They were a big hit. My husband had it with cherry chocolate chunk ice cream on top

  14. Megan Greene says

    5 stars
I would def add butterscotch chips or white chocolate chips to these! I don’t mind chocolate chips to these! I don’t mind chocolate chips but I think butterscotch or white chocolate would just go/taste better with the blonde aspect! 😊

  15. Andrea Stoeckel says

When I was a professional cook in the late 1970s, we’d add chocolate chips to Blondies. These days I might add lemon chips or heath chips.

  16. S. AXTON says

I might try white chocolate chips. My hubby would say butterscotch! No caramel on top, tho. My mom used to make Caramel Chocolate Squares. You happen to have that recipe? It had melted caramels as a middle layer, along with milk chocolate chips.

  17. Julie Suffel says

    5 stars
I would add chocolate chips, and peanut butter chips. Definitely add some chopped salted pecans, and most definitely some caramel sauce.

  18. Jennifer Cornman says

    5 stars
I would do toffee bits and pecans chopped and not sure what chocolate chips would be good I will have to experiment lol looks so yummy

  19. Kathi says

We used to get blonde brownies in grade school. They would make a brown butter frosting or a peanut butter frosting. I love the peanut butter frosting the best.

I am not a big fan of caramel on cakes, brownies, etc. However, I think a maple frosting would be dish…

  20. Maureen says

    5 stars
These look absolutely delicious. I would replace the chocolate chips with caramel chips and you have to pour caramel sauce over them. Look forward to making these.

  21. Cynthia C Kelly says

    5 stars
These look both amazing and delicious! I would use semi-sweet chocolate chips when I make them. My boyfriend is going to love this treat! Thank you for your recipe.

  22. Edie Page says

My Mother made the very best Blonde brownies, but I do not have her recipe since she never wrote it down, so I will try these this week.
My pick of the additions would be the drizzle of caramel sauce, but will eventually try others.
    Thanks for sharing this recipe!

  23. Toni Pankowski says

    5 stars
I’ll try it like the recipe girst, then eith 1/2 milk chocolate an butterscotch
Maybe replace nuts with toffee chips

  24. Christopher Cazaubon says

    5 stars
I can’t wait to make these with peanut butter chips. I am not a big fan of chocolate so I try to substitute different ingredients for chocolate.

  25. Pat says

I would add semisweet chips, butterscotch chips, peanut butter chips, white chocolate chips, cinnamon chips. I would add them one at a time or all of them at once . I love a lot of flavors all at once.
I would add nuts. Any kind of nuts except peanuts. I love peanuts, I just don’t care for peanuts added to cake, cookies or brownies.
I would add caramel sauce when serving on a dish, to eat with a fork. Not if just holding in my hand to eat. The sauce would be running off and onto my hands and clithes etc.

  26. Samantha Stegner says

    5 stars
I would maybe use white chocolate chips or Butterscotch chips, add a little bit of crushed Nuts and Carmel sauce or get fancy and do A Carmel Burbon sauce. So yummy!!

  27. Barb Duke says

    5 stars
I would probably use the “Special Dark” chocolate chips, would not add nuts as husband does not care for them. I think drizzling caramel and/or peanut butter over the top would make these “over the top”.

  28. Rachel says

°What kind of chocolate chips would you use for this blonde brownies recipe?

    Butterscotch chips

°Would you add chopped nuts to add some crunch to this recipe?

No nuts just not a fan but would add toffee bits for and caramel chunks to jazz it up and give it some extra texture

°Would you drizzle caramel sauce on these blonde brownies?

Yes but not any old caramel sauce I would melt down some Werther’s add some heavy cream and drizzle on top

    : ] : ) : } : ]. : ) : }

  29. Jessica Dietzler says

I use almond extract for added nutty flavor without the nuts & a couple tablespoons of espresso powder with mixed white and milk chocolate chips. Amazing 😍
