Kids had a hay day at this adorable Halloween costume hayride party styled by Sarah Sofia Knepp of Sarah Sofia Productions, Event Design. From spooky fun treats to darling costumes and decorations, this party had all the elements of a fantastic party. To kick off the Halloween excitement at The Hunter Farm, little guests outfitted in their Halloween best busied themselves exploring the patch and picking pumpkins. The pumpkins they picked would be used later in the party to decorate.
The kids then hopped aboard a covered wagon for a thrilling hayride. What a fun way to see more of the farm! Aren’t their costumes creative? We love to see imaginations soar while kids are pretending to be knights and firefighters, princesses, and favorite animals.
After playtime in the pumpkin patch, little guests had worked up an appetite. Sarah had a hauntingly sweet refreshment table where kids could choose from spooky treats and quench their thirst with fresh apple cider. The table looked festive with well-chosen decorations and props. A “trick or treat” banner, paper spider webs, and loads of cute décor dressed the table to impress!
Pumpkins and spooky candles, skeletons, and jack-o-lantern serving dishes, plus other Halloween accents created a colorful display.
Some of my favorite additions included an oversized spider, a fabric garland in bright Halloween colors and patterns from Lillypaul Designs, as well as a cute haunted house.
We also loved the jars filled with DIY eyeballs. What a fun use for ping pong balls and googly eyes.
No tricks at this refreshment table…just treats—and lots of them. Witch broomsticks were created from peanut butter cups and pretzel sticks. Cotton candy cobwebs displayed in witch hats (Target), monster candy apples, “skeleton bones” (yogurt-covered pretzels), witch hat cookies, and graveyard cake with gummy worms topped the list of Halloween treats.
Sarah also included “terrifying tortilla chips” that came in fun Halloween shapes like ghosts, pumpkins, and bats.
Guests got a fun surprise as they filled their plates—the animated witch cauldron started kicking its legs.
A picnic table was prepped as the dining table. Covered in a tablecloth and spider web runner, each place setting included a festive Halloween plate and glass. Aren’t the witch straw toppers adorable? Such a cute detail. Embossed napkins are added to the look. Hosts Sofia and Charlotte invited guests to fill up treat bags with personalized stickers, candy, and a Halloween Pez dispenser as take-home party favors. What a sweet ending to an amazing day!
