For our “spell-a-bration” we set the stage by using a custom-made wicked witch invitation and printable party décor set designed by Anders Ruff Custom Designs.
Several of the décor items were inspired by printable designs. They incorporated haunted ghost treats and a faux bois-style backdrop to mimic the invitation. With a focus on a classic Halloween color palette of black, orange, and purple. Our favorite item inspired by the printable designs was a framed witch silhouette by Ten23 Designs. It served as the focal point for our dessert table backdrop.
The boo-tiful dessert table was a favorite element of the party. Having been inspired by a fabulous Maleficent party by Michelle’s Party-Plan-It, they reached out to Lauren of Ten23 Designs to create a silhouette style focal point using the witch featured in Anders Ruff’s designs.
They added some creepy cloth to a ruffled tablecloth by Candy Crush. Then mixed in some great Halloween props to bring in a little more wicked to balance out the sweet. Glass bottles held black candles, and a few plastic rodents and feathered crows helped bring in a little of the creepy vibe. A coordinating “wicked” banner was hung from the front of the table.
The table was topped with tantalizing treats. Cauldron cake pops by Vypassetti Cake Pops and the “Poison Apples” by Roni’s Sugar Creations were amazing.
Rodent lollipops were part of the dessert table display and definitely creeped us out. They added a pop of color to the dessert table with printable flags and food labels. Christina of 4 Kids Cakes designed the gorgeous black and white ruffle cake. Sweet fondant flowers and an edible chocolate topper really made an impressive cake. Chocolate cupcakes baked by Christina were topped with adorable fondant spider and bat toppers by Kima’s Confections. They looked awesome in metal spider cupcake holders.
While custom treats were definitely the highlight of the dessert table, color, and theme-coordinating candy favorites were housed in apothecary jars that were dressed up with ribbon and printable labels.
They used a China hutch to display some creepier candy such as “bat droppings”, “eerie eyeballs” and “magic worms”.
A bat-shaped candy dish held Hershey’s Kisses embellished with Halloween printables.
Sweets From Heaven, Outlets at Orange made coordinating witch broom, themed candy kabobs that flew off the shelves.
Little ghouls and goblins had to act fast to snatch one before they were gone.
Guests dined at place settings laden with spider web placemats and themed tableware set atop green chargers. Vintage glass bottles from Via Blossom were filled with purple elixir and looked like potion bottles for quenching thirst. They were costumed in custom beverage wraps and accented with straws from Hoopla Events. Don’t they look bewitching?
To give the place settings a wicked touch, miniature brooms were added next to each plate. Spider web candelabras and Spellbooks functioned as spooky centerpieces.
No tricks at this party just the treats! Guests were treated to burlap bags filled with small bottles of “hocus pocus” powder, test tubes full of candy concoctions, and Halloween crayon boxes (Anders Ruff). Lots of cackling could be heard during this fun “spell-a-bration”!
