Red Wine Chocolate Cake

By  |

This Red Wine Chocolate Cake is a delicious and decadent dessert that mom will love!

Moms are so amazing — year round, they put in an incredible amount of work to improve their babies lives — no matter how old their babies are!

What better way to say “I love you” than with an incredible chocolate cake made with wine and a gift basket to help her relax?!

Red Wine Chocolate Cake Recipe

I’m proud to partner with Mirum to bring you these ideas!

We’ll talk about the chocolate wine cake in a moment — first, I need to brag on my mom for a minute.

My mama is stellar.

She is mom goals.

I recently celebrated my birthday and we were chatting.

Let me add: she was in labor for me for several days before I finally made my grand entrance.

Now that I have three boys of my own, I can fully appreciate just how miserable that must have been for her.

So as we were chatting, I commented to her, “aren’t you glad to not be in labor today”? with a chuckle.

She immediately responded, “I would do it every year again if the end result was you”.

Annnnnd melt.

It reminded me how deep my mom’s love is for me and how much she values me.

Growing up, my mom was what would be considered a “Pinterest mom” these days.

She made everything special.

We did crafts, we did fun recipes, she made play dates extra special.

And birthdays. Oh, birthdays.

To this day, I think of my birthday as a national holiday.

Not in a stuck up, spoiled way… but because my mom always made it an incredible event where I felt loved and special — that’s the standard I stick to for my birthday each year.

My mom is the most selfless person I’ve ever met.

She always leads with her heart.

Over the past several years, I’ve watched her grow more and more tired.

My dad has some very serious health issues and she has become his full time care giver.

The toll on her is obvious and measurable. There are times where I don’t know how she manages to keep going because she pours out so much energy.

If anyone deserves a moment to indulge and relax, it’s her.

As a thank you, I wanted to create a special treat for her to enjoy that would remind her how special she is since she’s always working hard to make everyone around her feel special.

Mother's Day Gift Basket

I knew I wanted to create a special gift basket for her. Something that she could enjoy regularly and take a moment to pamper herself with.

The Dove products I compiled will do just that!

Dove helps create smooth, radiant skin that is healthy and well cared for.

I included Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo and Conditioner as well as their famous Dove White Beauty Bar, Dove Exfoliating Body Polish and Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash.

Gifts for Mother's Day

I also tucked in a pretty new hand towel, a floral bag, a soap dish and a fluffy new loofah.

I arranged everything in a cute wire basket which I know she’ll be able to use and enjoy as well.

And can I tell you… this gift basket smells divine.

Everything is so fresh and clean and pretty.

I decided to also create an amazing chocolate red wine cake for her to enjoy.

If there is one weakness my mama has it’s chocolate.

She adores anything chocolate.

And really… I think this recipe is just an efficient treat. Wine and chocolate cake combined? Brilliant.

I’m excited to share this red wine cake recipe with you today — I know you’ll enjoy it!

Am going to make this cake! It sounds very delicious! The addition of red wine is different and should add a different twist to basic chocolate cake!
