Crockpot Chocolate Caramel Cake

By  |

This crockpot chocolate caramel cake couldn’t be easier to throw together. Gone are the days of slaving over cake batter, mixing it all up, and waiting for it to bake just right. This made from scratch cake is so simple to whip up using your crock pot.

That’s right – a crockpot. You put together all of the ingredients, throw them in the slow cooker and head off to enjoy your day while it cooks! It’s seriously that easy. You do not have to do any baking or pre-cooking of the cake at all. The crockpot will do all of the work for you.

I love using the crockpot to bakes cakes. Not only because it makes it really easy for me, but because of the texture that it gives the cake when it’s finished. Check out our crockpot apple cobbler as another great example. It’s much different than baking it in the oven. It makes the cake soft, gooey, and in my opinion, more delicious! How to Make a Cake in Your Slow Cooker

First, you will want to mix up the cake ingredients put into the slow cooker. This will include the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, oil, and vanilla. Mix these together well before putting the mixture into the crockpot.

Next, you will stir the white chocolate and milk chocolate chips into the cake mix in the crock pot. Then, drizzle half of the sundae caramel sauce on the cake.

In a separate bowl, mix together the chocolate pudding mix and two cups of milk. Then, pour this mixture over the cop of the cake mix.

Finally, add the remaining caramel sauce to the top.

Then, you will cover the cake mixture and let it cook for two hours on high. It’s that easy!

What to Serve with this Cake

When the cake is finished and you are ready for plating, drizzle the additional caramel over the cake and sprinkle it with coarse sea salt. You can leave off the salt for anyone who might not be a fan of the salty sweet combo.

And of course, let’s not forget the ice cream. I love serving this cake alongside vanilla bean ice cream. The warm chocolate cake and cool vanilla ice cream are the definition of perfection.
