Table of Contents
Enjoy these quick and easy air fryer pizzas when you are craving that classic cheesy goodness. Cooked to perfection every single time, you’ll enjoy the crispy crust, tasty toppings, and melty cheese of these individual pizzas.
Air Fryer Pizza Ingredients
Air fryer pizzas are a perfect blend of crispiness and juicy flavors that melt in your mouth.
The secret behind the succulent taste is how the hot air circulates around the pizza, causing it to cook evenly, locking in all the flavor.
You’ll need:
- 1 (16.3-ounce) can of Grands flaky buttermilk biscuits (or a generic version)
- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour (for rolling out the biscuit halves)
- 1½ cups of pizza sauce
- 4 ounces (48 slices) of pepperoni
- 8 ounces of mild Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 2 cups of freshly shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons of Italian seasoning (⅛ teaspoon per pizza, optional garnish)
Substitutions And Additions
PIZZA: You can substitute any pizza toppings for the pepperoni and Italian sausage in this easy air fryer pizza recipe. Try ground beef, parmesan cheese, green peppers, onion, or mushrooms for a few great choices.
SPICE: If you want a little bit of spice on your pizza, add a dash of red pepper flakes to your sauce.
BBQ PIZZA: If you want to make a BBQ version of this simple recipe, substitute your favorite BBQ sauce and top it with pulled pork and shredded cheese.
BISCUITS: You can substitute butter-flavored flaky biscuits for the buttermilk flaky biscuits for these air fryer mini pizzas.
How To Make This Air Fryer Pizza Recipe
Once you assemble the mini pizzas, a quick bake in your air fryer will result in a gooey, cheesy meal.
STEP ONE: Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray. Set it aside.
OUR RECIPE DEVELOPER SAYS
Some air fryer instructions prefer olive oil spray, grapeseed oil spray, or similar types of natural sprays and not sprays like Pam. Check your air fryer manual for which nonstick sprays are acceptable.
STEP TWO: Carefully separate the Grands biscuits in half.
PRO TIP:
If you want a bit larger pizza, you can skip separating the biscuits and roll it out a 5 to 6-inch circle. Double the sauce and toppings. Cook for 5 minutes at 400°F.
STEP THREE: Lightly sprinkle the flour on your rolling surface, on the biscuit, and on your rolling pin, and roll the biscuit out to a 4 to 4½-inch round.
PRO TIP:
Keep the biscuit dough chilled between cooking the little pizzas in the air fryer. If you leave the biscuit dough out in between cooking sessions, the dough warms up and is more flimsy, harder to roll out, and harder to transfer to the air fryer basket even with a spatula.
STEP FOUR: Spread 1 tablespoon of the pizza sauce per biscuit round.
STEP FIVE: Lay 3 pepperoni slices on top of the pizza sauce.
STEP SIX: Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of the crumbled sausage on top of the pepperoni.
STEP SEVEN: Top the sausage with 2 tablespoons of shredded mozzarella cheese.
STEP EIGHT: Sprinkle with ⅛ teaspoon of Italian seasoning.
STEP NINE: Carefully transfer 2 to 3 pizzas (depending on how big your air fryer basket is) to the prepared basket. Try to keep the edges from overlapping. Air fry pizza for 5 minutes at 400°F. Repeat for the remaining mini pizzas. Serve while hot.
PRO TIP:
I found transferring the little prepared pizza to the air fryer basket was made easier by using a spatula.
