Homemade Snickers Ingredients

Ingredient Substitutions
CHOCOLATE CHIPS: You can substitute semi-sweet or dark chocolate for the milk chocolate chips in this recipe.
PEANUT BUTTER: You can substitute crunchy peanut butter for creamy peanut butter in this sweet treat.
CARAMEL BITS: You can substitute individually wrapped caramels if you cannot find the caramel pieces.
How To Make This Snickers Snack Cups Recipe
STEP ONE: Place 12 muffin liners in a standard muffin pan. Set it aside.
STEP TWO: Add the chocolate chips to a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl.
Heat in the microwave for one minute, stir, and then heat in 30-second increments until the chocolate chips are completely melted and smooth.
PRO TIP:
You can also melt the chocolate chips on the stovetop in a saucepan if you prefer.

STEP THREE: Scoop one teaspoon of melted chocolate into the bottom of each muffin liner and evenly spread the chocolate with the back of a spoon.
Place the pan in the refrigerator.
PRO TIP:
Do not skip the chilling step. The bottom layer of chocolate has to be set before adding any other layers on top.

STEP FOUR: Add the caramel bits and water to a small microwave-safe bowl.
Heat in the microwave for one minute, stir, and heat in 20-second intervals until the caramel bits are completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

STEP FIVE: Stir in the chopped peanuts and set aside.

STEP SIX: Add the peanut butter and powdered sugar to a small mixing bowl. Stir to combine thoroughly. Set it aside.

STEP SEVEN: Remove the chocolate cups from the refrigerator.
STEP EIGHT: Scoop out two teaspoons of the peanut butter mixture for each chocolate cup. Spread on top of the bottom chocolate layer.

STEP NINE: Scoop out one tablespoon of the caramel mixture and add on top of the peanut butter.

STEP TEN: Scoop out two teaspoons of the melted chocolate and spread the layer of chocolate on top of the caramel layer.
Chill in the refrigerator until the chocolate is firm.

Storage
IN THE FRIDGE: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for five days.
IN THE FREEZER: You can freeze the cups for up to one month. Allow the cups to thaw in the refrigerator overnight before serving.
