This easy peanut butter cup shot recipe combines everyone’s favorite chocolate peanut butter combo with a little whiskey. Tasting just like Reese’s peanut butter cups, this heavenly drink will have you hooked from the first sip.

When it comes to sweet treats, nothing beats the combination of chocolate and peanut butter.

And that’s exactly what you get with a Reese’s Cup shot – the perfect blend of rich, creamy chocolate and smooth, nutty peanut butter.

The shot goes down incredibly smoothly, leaving behind a lingering sweetness that is hard to resist.

You’ll need:

  • Chocolate syrup or chocolate ganache for the rims of the shot glass, optional
  • ½ ounce of milk (we like whole milk)
  • ½ ounce of coffee liqueur
  • ½ ounce of Skrewball peanut butter whiskey
  • Reese’s “minis” peanut butter cups

PRO TIP:

To make the chocolate ganache, pour a half cup of simmering heavy cream over a half cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips. Let them sit for two to three minutes, and then whisk vigorously until the chocolate is fully melted and incorporated with the cream.

Substitutions And Additions

LIQUEUR: You could also use a chocolate liqueur instead of the coffee liqueur if you’d like for this peanut butter shot.

BAILEY’S: Bailey’s Irish cream could be a yummy substitute for the milk if you want that extra bit of booze in your creamy shot.

GANACHE: We used a chocolate ganache here to dip the rims of the shot glasses. Chocolate syrup would be a bit thinner.

If you’d like to use chocolate syrup, you could also add a chocolate drizzle on the inside of the rims, and it would drip down the insides of the glasses.

If you’re serving a crowd, you can easily mix up a cocktail shaker full of equal parts milk, coffee liqueur, and Skrewball whiskey. Then simply pour it into the shot glasses at serving time.

STEP ONE: Place chocolate syrup (thinner) or chocolate ganache (thicker) into a shallow dish. Dip the rim of each shot glass into the chocolate.

PRO TIP:

Although we use coffee liqueur in these shots, you don’t really taste the coffee flavor. The chocolate rim and the Reese’s garnish make these shots taste just like a Reese’s peanut butter cup.
