While I love lots of little embellishments that make an event special, I also appreciate the simplicity of a few handsome details.
Sharnel masterfully created this adorable pinwheel themed dessert table by following a few party planning basics, and you can too.
First, she chose a unique theme and carried it throughout her styling.
You’ll notice a darling name banner with pinwheel graphics hanging above the dessert table.
Not only did this simple banner provide a focal point, but it reinforced the theme and immediately identified William as the guest of honor.
You’ll notice the pinwheel used again on printable labels too.
Look closely at the amazing cake and you’ll see pinwheels twirling across the bottom tier of the cake. Additionally 3-D pinwheels were created and used as props on the table.
Second, to provide a cohesive look to the dessert table, Sharnel stuck to a great color palette of blue and green. Festive and fun, the desserts all coordinated.
There were blue buckets filled to the brim with shiny green apples.
Delicious looking cupcakes were given a blue and green layer of frosting on top.
Candy jars were filled with M & Ms, gummy sharks and other color-coordinating candy favorites.
Caramel corn was served in blue colored cones and embellished with pinwheel labels.
Even the cookies were made to match the color palette and theme.
Finally, to pull off this gorgeous simple look, Sharnel put together her dessert display using everyday items. A fresh white tablecloth was the foundation.
Crates were lined up to add an extra dimension to the table. Boxes were covered in color coordinating wrapping paper.
Classic platters provided a wonderful way to present the attractive desserts.
Coordinating a great party doesn’t require over-the-top decorations and couture desserts.
This preppy pinwheel themed boy’s birthday party is proof that classic, clean lines and a signature décor choice create a darling celebration.
