You know what’s better than crispy chicken fingers? Crispy chicken fingers dipped in a sauce so good, you’ll want to put it on everything. This chicken finger dipping sauce is creamy, tangy and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. It takes less than 5 minutes to whip up, and trust me — it’ll beat anything you can buy in a bottle.

Mayonnaise is the creamy base that gives the sauce its rich texture — full-fat mayo works best for flavor, but you can substitute with Greek yogurt or light mayo if you prefer a lighter option.

Ketchup adds a hint of sweetness and classic tang, so choose a ketchup you enjoy, or opt for a low-sugar version if you want to reduce the sweetness.

Worcestershire sauce is key — don’t skip it! This sauce is needed for depth and a touch of umami.

Garlic salt combines that essential garlicky punch with the perfect amount of saltiness, so no need to add extra salt. If you find you don’t have garlic salt on hand, you can replace it with garlic powder and kosher salt. Use a 3:1 ratio of 3 parts salt to 1 part garlic powder

Cholula is known for its mild heat, balanced with a tangy, slightly vinegary flavor and just a hint of spice. This makes it an excellent choice for those who want flavor without overwhelming heat. If you prefer more kick, you can swap it with your favorite hot sauce.

Make This: Two Steps, 5 Minutes

This chicken finger dipping sauce comes together in minutes. Here’s how to make sure it’s a winner every time:

  1. Start Smooth: In a small mixing bowl, whisk together your mayonnaise and ketchup until they’re fully blended. Think creamy, rosy perfection — no streaks.
  2. Build the Flavor: Add the rest of the ingredients — Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, pepper, and Cholula — a little at a time. Stir well after each addition, and taste as you go.

PRO TIP:

If you have a few extra minutes, let the sauce chill in the fridge for 10–15 minutes. This lets the flavors mingle and makes everything taste even better.

How To Serve Dipping Sauce

You know what chicken finger dipping sauce was made for? Dunking crispy, golden-brown chicken fingers or tenders until they’re smothered in creamy, tangy goodness. It’s the perfect bite — juicy chicken, crunchy coating, and a punchy sauce that makes everything better.

chicken tenders and a bowl of sauce on a plate

Pair it with a side of fries (because chicken fingers and fries are a duo that never disappoints) and you’ve got a meal that’ll rival any fast-food favorite. Throw in some coleslaw and pickles for freshness and crunch, and you’ve just elevated the whole experience to next-level comfort food.

Serving a crowd? Pile those chicken fingers high on a platter with a big bowl of sauce for dipping. It’s easy, it’s fun, and it’s guaranteed to disappear fast at game days, parties, or any gathering. Because when there’s good sauce, there’s no such thing as leftovers.

Storage Tips

Made too much sauce? No problem! Here’s how to keep it fresh and ready for your next round of dunking.

Fridge Life: Pop the sauce in an airtight container or jar, and store it in the fridge. It’ll stay good for up to 5 days — if it lasts that long.

After chilling, the sauce might separate a little. No worries — just give it a quick stir before serving, and it’ll be good as new.

Freezing? Skip It: This mayo-based wonder doesn’t love the freezer. It’ll separate and lose its creamy magic, so stick to refrigeration.

Make it ahead, store it right, and you’ll always have this addictive sauce ready for dipping!

Make ahead: This sauce can be made several days in advance — easy, right? If you’re setting it out before serving time, just keep it covered with a lid, a piece of plastic wrap, or a sheet of aluminum foil pressed right onto the surface. This little trick stops a skin from forming and keeps your sauce smooth and creamy.

Slightly spicy and full of flavor, this simple chicken finger dipping sauce is a fantastic alternative to store-bought dipping sauces. If your family is like mine, they tend to eat the dipping sauce with a side of chicken fingers instead of the other way around, so double your batch to make sure there is lots for everyone!

Chicken Finger Dipping Sauce

5 from 113 votes
This chicken finger dipping sauce takes minutes to throw together and gives you just the right amount of spice and lots of flavor to accompany your chicken fingers and nuggets.
Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon coarse black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Cholula hot sauce, or favorite hot sauce
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire

Instructions

  • Mix together mayonnaise and ketchup until fully combined.
  • Add the remaining ingredients, mixing half or so in at a time and adjusting to taste.
  • Serve with freshly fried chicken fingers.

Notes

  • I like mixing the mayonnaise and ketchup first so that you have your base and can add the other seasonings gradually to achieve the spice and flavor you want.
  • There is just a bit of spice to this recipe. Add more hot sauce for a spicier taste.
  • The Worcestershire sauce is strong – don’t add more than ½ teaspoon, or it will really overpower the other flavors.

Dipping sauces are my new fascination in recipes. As a result of an oral cancer diagnosis in the summer of 2021, all of my teeth had to be removed. Dipping sauce sometimes makes it easier to eat and in some cases swallow (I also had 2/3 of my tongue removed.) I used to love crispy fingers…but I can’t eat them anymore….
