This delicious dip has the flavor combination of everyone’s favorite sandwich.

The creamy base is made with lots of mayo, sour cream, and seasonings. Then you’ll crumble bacon and add shredded cheese.

Finally, fresh ingredients like chopped tomatoes and crisp lettuce finish off this perfect party appetizer.

For this simple recipe you’ll need:

  • 2 (8-ounce) packages of cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise (your favorite brand)
  • 1 (1-ounce) packet of dry ranch dressing mix
  • 2½ tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper
  • 1½ pounds smoked bacon, cooked and crumbled (reserve ½ cup for topping)
  • 2 cups shredded Colby and Monterey Jack cheese
  • ¾ cup diced Roma tomatoes (topping)
  • 1½ cups shredded lettuce (topping)

PRO TIP:

Roma tomatoes are less juicy, and therefore your dip won’t become too soggy.

Substitutions and Additions for BLT Dip

GREEK YOGURT: You can swap out creamier, high-protein Greek yogurt for either the sour cream or mayo in this dip recipe.

TOMATOES: If fresh tomatoes aren’t available or you want a different texture, sun-dried tomatoes can be a great addition. They’ll add a more concentrated, slightly sweet flavor to the dip.

LETTUCE: For a crunchier texture, try swapping iceberg lettuce with romaine lettuce. If you’re looking for a more nutrient-dense option, baby spinach is a great choice.

CHEESE: Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese. You could use shredded cheddar cheese, pepper jack for a spicy kick, or mozzarella for a milder taste. Each cheese brings its unique flavor and texture to the dish.

GREEN ONIONS: You can add green onions or chives can be a good alternative if you prefer a milder onion flavor. They add a nice color and subtle taste without overpowering the other ingredients.

GARLIC POWDER: Fresh minced garlic can be used for a more robust garlic flavor. Adjust the quantity based on your taste preferences.

SEASONING SALT: You can use seasoning salt instead of regular salt

WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE: For a vegetarian version, use a Worcestershire sauce that doesn’t contain anchovies. Soy sauce or liquid aminos can also be used for a similar umami flavor.

How to Make This BLT Dip Recipe

OUR RECIPE DEVELOPER SAYS

This dip can be made ahead of time and kept in the fridge to allow all the flavors to mingle. We would recommend waiting to add the diced tomatoes and lettuce until right before you are ready to serve, though.

STEP ONE: Using either a stand mixer or a medium-sized mixing bowl and a handheld mixer on medium-high speed.

Beat together the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise for 90 seconds to two minutes until smooth.

PRO TIP:

Make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature so that you don’t have any lumps in your cream cheese base.

Storage Tips for This BLT Dip Recipe

BLT dip is not only a crowd-pleaser at gatherings, but it’s also wonderfully versatile when it comes to making ahead and storing.

Whether you’re prepping for a party or saving leftovers, proper storage is key to maintaining its deliciousness.

Here’s how to keep your BLT dip tasting great, whether you’re making it ahead of time or storing leftovers.

How to Make BLT Dip in Advance

This BLT dip can be prepared a day in advance to help you get ahead of your party preparations.

Simply mix together all the creamy dip ingredients and store the dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

When you’re ready to serve, add the fresh lettuce and tomatoes to ensure it retains its crispness.

This method keeps the flavors rich and allows them to meld beautifully.

How to Store BLT Dip in the Fridge

If you have leftovers or have made your dip ahead of time, it can be stored in the refrigerator.

Place the dip in an airtight container, and it will last for up to three days.

Remember, the lettuce may wilt a bit over time, so it’s best enjoyed sooner rather than later.

Because this dip contains cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise, it is best to use it fresh and not freeze it, or it may become watery once thawed.
