STEP SEVEN: While the snowmen are freezing, add the white melting chocolate to a double boiler with one teaspoon of shortening. Stir as it starts to melt.
Once melted, keep the water simmering on low so the chocolate doesn’t burn.

Adding shortening helps the chocolate get smooth and even.
STEP EIGHT: Remove the snowmen from the freezer. Dip the heads in the chocolate and then place the smaller ball on the bodies.
Return to the prepared baking sheet and into the freezer to chill for 20 minutes.
STEP NINE: Remove from the freezer and dip the whole snowman in the white chocolate. Place the baking tray in the refrigerator to allow them to set.
STEP TEN: Transfer the regular chocolate to a piping bag or sandwich bag and cut just the tip off.
It needs to be a very small hole so it doesn’t rush out and to allow you to make small dots for the eyes, mouth, and buttons. Pipe on the eyes, mouth, buttons, and arms.

Icing pens would also work to draw the snowman’s face and arms if you have them.
STEP ELEVEN: Melt the orange candy melts and place it in a piping bag. Cut a very small tip off and pipe on the snowman’s carrot nose.
STEP TWELVE: Use the regular chocolate to glue the hats on top of each snowman. Tie the small piece of licorice around the neck of each snowman as the scarf.
