If a birthday party can make wishes come true, this party idea should have done it! Using Santa’s Workshop as a theme, mom Kelli of Print and Cut Printable, created a wonderful birthday celebration that was also a special invitation to kick off the Christmas season for party guests. Kelli’s attention to detail produced a masterful use of party supplies. The Santa’s bag birthday cake, workshop decorations, and take-home favors are delightful!

Christmas and Party

Birthday boy Carter loves to dress up and play Santa year-round. Can you imagine his excitement when an authentic-looking Santa showed up at the party? Besides posing for some terrific photos, Mr. and Mrs. Claus sang songs, read books, and teased the kids. They loved it.

A birthday breakfast buffet included quiche, muffins, donuts, milk, and juices. There was also a candy buffet where a darling Santa’s bag birthday cake (influenced by Pottery Barn’s version) was the star of the table. Lily Cakes did a fantastic job. On the candy buffet were chocolate workshop tools, Grandma’s sugar cookies, cupcakes, ornament cake pops, ice cream, and a cocoa-making station. A red cupcake holder suggests a Christmas tree and it held cups of snow (cotton candy)—cute!

Another wow was the Santa’s Naughty and Nice List cookies; these 3-D cookies even showed book “pages”. The entire house was embellished with Christmas decorations and a bookcase was decked out to look like part of Santa’s workshop. Toys, candies, and gift wrap filled the cubbies with holiday colors. A garland of paper ornaments spelled out “Happy Birthday”. Ornaments were suspended with green and white baker’s twine.

One of the sweet details of this party is the letters to Santa Station. Holiday stationery and pencils were provided so guests could make out their wish lists. A darling train mailbox was to transport the letters to the North Pole. Details like the hand-stamped wooden spoons, chevron napkins, and Christmas food medallions make sure the party atmosphere is multiplied on every level.

In addition to taking home terrific party memories, each guest received a red, gabled favor box that held a countdown calendar craft kit, an elf-shaped ring pop, and a holiday ornament. What a fun way to start the holiday season!
