This cute kids’ party food idea is a super-easy idea and it’s pretty healthy, too; bet the kids will want to help you make it! It looks just like the tall hat that belonged to the cat in the Dr. Seuss title, The Cat in the Hat.

Is there anyone who hasn’t read at least one Dr. Seuss book to their child? I can remember my dad reading Seuss books to me when I was little. The Cat in the Hat was Seuss’ second bestselling title (Green Eggs and Ham was #1). I can remember learning to read it, too! Dr. Seuss’ birthday, March 2, has been designated as the annual National Read Across America Day because of his great contribution to children’s literature. Seems like a good reason to celebrate!
Ingredients for one kid’s party food hat treat:
- ½ banana
- 2 sliced strawberries
- 1 double stuffed chocolate sandwich cookie
- 1 lollypop stick
To create this kid’s party food treat:
- gently twist the cookie, leaving the stuffed cream on ½
- insert the lollipop stick in the cream
- layer the strawberry and banana til you reach the top of the stick
- eat the half of the cookie without the cream – somebody has to do it! Actually you could put the unused portion in a baggie to later crush and use to top pudding or some other dessert – if you have that kind of restraint!
