Celebrating with a Dr. Seuss birthday party? The Cat in the Hat and Carol at Partylicious know a lot about that. Carol created a Cat in The Hat first birthday party and filled it with balloons, favors, cakes, and a lovely dessert table overflowing with the whimsy of Dr. Seuss.

Parties based on favorite family books are among my favorite types to feature on this blog. A great example is the Harry Potter party recently featured. Anything that can foster a lifelong love of books in our boys (and girls) is all right by us, and we all know how important to do that at an early age.
To reinforce the Cat in the Hat theme, this party was decked out with supplies in shades of blue, with red and white accents on everything from the cupcakes to the wall decorations, but it’s the balloon animals that are the real standouts of this party layout. Red and white balloons were used to make a checkerboard backdrop for the dessert table — and the sculptures of Thing 1, Thing 2, and The Cat in the Hat are nothing short of incredible. That’s not even mentioning those goldfish bowl balloon centerpieces, which we love. They’ve virtually created art with balloons.
The food focal point of the party was the gorgeous dessert table, which was decorated with an array of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and Jell-O cups and all coordinated in the party colors. The birthday cake is a true show stopper combining the Cat in the Hat as well as Things 1 and 2. We are amazed. Not a single detail of this party was missed from water bottle labels to wooden spoon embellishments. For the activity portion of the party, Carol had Cat in The Hat-themed photo props for people to snap silly pictures with. Thing 1 and Thing 2 would have had a blast at this birthday party, for certain.
