When I think of our local county fair, I envision the Ferris wheel and wooden roller coaster, dream of the delicious food and long for the vintage decorations.
Burlap, hay bales, blue ribbons, and outdoor games scream county fair to me.
This party incorporates many of those things (some not pictured), and surely gave party guests a dose of fair fun they will not soon forget.
Viewing Michelle’s party makes me crave the fair something fierce.
Getting to the nitty gritty details of the award winning dessert table is the first of order of business.
From the metal Ferris Wheel treat holder to a cute vintage inspired fabric bunting to 3 blue ribbon winning cakes (each unique and beautiful and surely yummy), I’m ready to play hooky and mosey on over for some of this featured county fair food.
I’m pretty sure I’d start with the darling bunting topped chocolate cake and then make my way to each of the other cakes too.
The addition of the bunting cake topper and blue and red ribbon to the chocolate cake gave off that down home county fair feel, didn’t it?
And of course, there is always room for pie, especially when it’s cherry and tied up in red and white baker’s twine.
Don’t you love how wooden utensils were attached for easy eating?
The cherry pie filling oozing up from under the lightly browned pie crusts surely gave a deliciously sweet aroma to the party space. The mini pies look like they were finger-lickin’ good!
And because Michelle thought of everything, several more refreshments were part of the county fair smorgasbord.
Can you spot the vintage candy jar which contained vintage-wrapped salt water taffy?
Couldn’t you just die right now and go to county fair heaven? (I’ll see you there!)
If those sweets don’t float your boat, you could have also selected delectable whoopee pies or classic looking caramel apples to chow down on while enjoying party fun. P
ersonally, I’d like one of each! (Or maybe two!)
Because a day at the fair just isn’t the same unless you leave with a handful of prizes won, you better believe Michelle sent guests home with a party favor.
Burlap bags were decked out in handmade prize ribbons and filled with a variety of cute prizes. Plastic toy animals were packaged in bags with the cutest “Tiny petting zoo” labels.
Another fun addition to the favor bags was a custom cd of county fair jamboree music. I love both of these ideas.
Are you ready to spend a day at the county fair for your next celebration? There is so much inspiration to be found from this awesome county fair dessert table.
