- ½ cup of powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Substitutions And Additions
WHIPPED TOPPING: You can substitute store-bought extra creamy whipped topping (Cool Whip) that has been thawed for a shortcut version of the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
You may need to use between 12-16 ounces of the thawed whipped topping to get nice layers.
COOKIES: Any brand of golden or vanilla sandwich cookie will work in this recipe. You could even use the Golden Oreo cookie thins and add a third layer of cookies.
How To Make This Golden Oreo Dessert Recipe
This dessert is unbelievably easy to make. Once you make the sweetened whipped cream, you can alternate layers of Oreo cookies and whipped cream by following our simple steps below.
STEP ONE: In a large bowl with a hand mixer or in the bowl of your stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, beat the cold heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract for two to three minutes until stiff peaks form.
You will want to start on low speed, then gradually increase the speed on the mixer until you are on high speed.
This will help to keep the heavy cream from splattering out of the bowl when being beaten.
STEP TWO: Place 16 of the Golden Oreos in an even layer on the bottom of a square 8×8-inch baking dish.
STEP THREE: Spread half of the whipped cream over the first layer of Golden Oreo cookie crust in an even layer using an offset spatula.
Be sure to try to push some of the whipped cream in between the cookies.
STEP FOUR: Add another 16 Golden Oreo cookies in an even layer over the whipped cream.
STEP FIVE: Top the second layer of cookies with the remaining half of the whipped cream.
Spread the whipped cream topping evenly over the cookies.
STEP SIX: In a large zip-top bag, add the six remaining Oreos. Use a rolling pin to crush the Oreo cookies in your Ziploc bag until they are slightly chunky cookie crumbs.
STEP SEVEN: Sprinkle the crushed cookies evenly over the top layer of whipped cream.
STEP EIGHT: Refrigerate the Golden Oreo cookie dessert for at least eight hours, but up to overnight for best results.

Storage
If you have any leftovers of this dessert, here is how to store them.
IN THE FRIDGE: This Golden Oreo dessert should be served chilled for the best results.
You can store this in the refrigerator, lightly covered with plastic wrap, for up to three days.
IN THE FREEZER: I do not recommend freezing this dessert for long-term storage as the heavy cream will break down when thawed.

- Sprinkle the crushed cookies evenly over the top layer of whipped cream.
- Refrigerate the golden Oreo cookie dessert for at least 8 hours, but up to overnight for best results.
Notes
- The cookies will stay semi-firm if you only do an 8-hour refrigeration. I prefer overnight refrigeration to allow the cookies time to soften a bit more. To achieve softer cookies, you can quickly dunk each cookie in milk before placing them in their layers. If you do this, then you may not need the overnight chill to achieve a dessert that is ready to serve.
- Use a rolling pin to crush the Oreo cookies in your Ziploc bag until they are in pieces.
- If you want nice clean cuts, you can place your dish in the freezer for 20 to 30 minutes to really firm up before slicing. Do not freeze for long periods of time.

when using Oreo’s or sandwich cookies do you have to seperate them and take off the creamy center or just crush them whole?
