  • 3½ cups of powdered sugar, sifted

For The Chocolate Layer:

How To Make This Buckeye Fudge Recipe

For The Peanut Butter Fudge Layer

STEP ONE: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving a slight overhang for easy removal from the pan. Set it aside.

OUR RECIPE DEVELOPER SAYS

Lining the pan with overhanging parchment paper will make lifting the fudge out of the pan to slice much easier.

STEP TWO: In a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl, add the butter and peanut butter. Heat in the microwave for 60 seconds.

Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave. Add the vanilla extract and stir until well combined.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why are these called buckeyes?

This confection is called a buckeye because the finished product, with its chocolate and peanut butter layers, mimics the flavors of a buckeye candy which resembles a buckeye nut from the buckeye tree, the state tree of Ohio.

Can this buckeye recipe be frozen?

This easy recipe freezes exceptionally well. Store in an airtight container for up to two months. This is an excellent option if you are planning to give this as a homemade gift. Make it ahead of time and store it until you are ready to share it.

How do I slice chilled fudge easily?

To easily slice the fudge, dip a large sharp flat knife in boiling water, dry it completely, and cut one long slice (the heat will help the blade to glide through).

Recipe sound great! I have made fudge before, so am going to make this as written. Then I will make it with crunchy peanut butter and dark chocolate. Am also going to make your key lime and pistachio cranberry fudges. Will have 4 kinds and will give an assortment of all as Christmas gifts.

Definitely not with crunchy peanut butter. It saves warning people about the texture. With plain peanut butter fudge we always use crunchy.

I’ve made fudge before but not buckeye fudge, this recipe looks so easy to make I think I will give it a try and watch it disappear for who doesn’t love homemade fudge. I love to use regular peanut butter and dark chocolate pieces for the chocolate lovers in the family and for the kids, I like to put a little bit of marshmallow cream on top of the peanut butter and milk chocolate to give them a little more sugar rush…Haha grandmoms are great at revenge. Thanks for the recipe!
