I am feeling regenerated. Refreshed. Invigorated. Virtuous!
I just got back from a spectacular Hawaiian vacation where I had great work-outs (learned I love to kayak!), ate amazing fresh food (oh, the fruit!) and soaked up the sun (glorious beaches!).
I highly recommend the experience. I hope to repeat it. Soon. And often.
Coming off that vacay high is great momentum for eating healthy and ramping up my exercise program! My new Philips Airfryer works perfectly for that first goal.
Last week I told you about my awesome not-fried, fried chicken. This time I’m sharing that not-fried, home fries are delicious, totally satisfying and so easy to make.
Ever heard of fried potatoes that only take one tablespoon of olive oil? That’s part of my virtuous, happily-ever-after right now.
I love fries…just not the unhealthy amount of fat they usually come in and certainly I don’t love the greasy mess they make.
That’s what is so great about the Philips Airfryer. There is no unhealthy fat—I feel good about using olive oil—and there is no big mess to clean up.
The Philips Airfryer uses Rapid Air Technology to fry, bake, roast and grill with little to no oil. It is fast and easy to use, too, with its adjustable temp control and pre-set timer. Meals in minutes!
I tell you, easy, healthy meals that are faster than ever to prepare make life a lot simpler. Clean-up is easy, too. The removable drawer and food basket have a non-stick coating and they’re dishwasher safe.
So to make those coveted home fries, this is what it took:
- 3 large potatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- cut and submerge potatoes in water (I let them soak about an hour)
- preheat Airfryer to 180
- remove potatoes from water; pat with paper towel
- cook for 26 minutes, flipping fries halfway through (cooking time may vary, depending on thickness of your fries)
- let set for a few minutes before eating (nice and hot!)
That’s it. Satisfying, delicious home fries and no guilt.
The Airfryer comes with a recipe booklet plus there’s a free app to download that has something over 200 recipes. Chef Gordon Ramsay shares impressive cooking tips that inspire, too.
You can find the Philips Airfryer at major retailers including Hudson’s Bay, Williams Sonoma, Canadian Tire, Amazon.ca, Bed Bath & Beyond, Best Buy, Costco.ca, Home Hardware, Linen Chest, London Drugs, Home Outfitters, Cayne’s, The Shopping Channel, Personal Edge. The suggested retail price is $299.99
