Classic Gingerbread Recipe

I can remember creating gingerbread houses at my grandparent’s home as a little girl. The best part was always the decorating! I loved adding embellishments to make each home unique.

Flash forward to modern life: my boys go on their holiday break in a couple of days and I’m excited for some extra time at home together and the chance to do activities as a family.

How to Make Traditional Gingerbread

One activity I want to do together is gingerbread. The boys love taking turns mixing the dough with me and cutting out the shapes.

How to Make Gingerbread Cookies

This classic gingerbread recipe is just like I remember baking as a little girl. But there is one big difference from what we did when I was little: we’re leaving these flat instead of creating 3D homes.

The dough recipe is filled with all things sweet and delicious, like brown sugar.

Easy Gingerbread Cookies

One thing that I love about these creations is that it’s all the decorating and I don’t have to wait for the houses to set up. My kiddos and I are definitely not patient. 😉

I’m confident you’ll enjoy creating this classic gingerbread recipe as much as us!
