Table of Contents
These delicious air fryer cinnamon rolls are easy to make and SO good. The sinfully delicious treats are cooked to perfection in your air fryer, giving you that perfect golden crust with a soft and gooey center.
Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls Ingredients
Air fryer cinnamon rolls are a heavenly treat – soft, fluffy pillows of sweet dough, bursting with gooey cinnamon swirls and topped with a rich, creamy icing that melts in your mouth.
It is no wonder deliciousness of this indulgent breakfast has proven to be a big hit when cooked up in the air fryer.
To make these delicious baked goods, you’ll need:
- 17.5-ounce can of Pillsbury Grands Original Cinnamon Rolls (with icing)
- 2 ounces of cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- ⅛ teaspoon (a pinch) of salt
- Optional garnish – sprinkle of cinnamon
PRO TIP:
You will need to note that this easy recipe is for the GRANDS size rolls. These rolls have the traditional look of cinnamon rolls. The standard 12.4-ounce cinnamon rolls are more like little cinnamon biscuits. If you are going to use a different brand, I suggest you buy one that is as close to weight and size as the Pillsbury Grands cinnamon rolls.
Substitutions And Additions
CINNAMON ROLLS: I did test the standard, 8-count/12.4-ounce, smaller-sized Pillsbury Original Cinnamon Rolls and followed the directions on those as well. They tasted good and were cooked well. I would note that they only needed another 5 minutes of cooking time after they were flipped to get a beautiful golden brown and cooked all the way through.
How To Make This Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls Recipe
Since we are using store-bought cinnamon rolls, this recipe comes together in a snap.
All you will need to do is place the cinnamon rolls in the air fryer basket and follow our easy directions below for cook time and temperature.
Once they are made, you will make an easy cream cheese frosting to serve with your warm rolls.
STEP ONE: Line the bottom of the basket of your air fryer with a piece of parchment paper that is cut to fit. You do not need to use any cooking spray in the basket. The cinnamon rolls will not stick to the parchment paper.
STEP TWO: Open your tube of cinnamon rolls, set your container of icing to the side, and pull apart the cinnamon roll dough. Place the rolls in a single layer into the parchment-lined air fryer basket, leaving a little space between each roll.
STEP THREE: Set your air fryer temperature to 330°F and your timer to 17 minutes. DO NOT PREHEAT your air fryer.
STEP FOUR: Cook the cinnamon rolls for 9 minutes, carefully flip them over using a spatula or tongs, then cook for another 6 to 8 minutes. You will want to check them at the 6-minute mark to ensure they are not over-browning.
PRO TIP:
This sweet treat was cooked using the COSORI 5.8-quart air fryer. If your brand of air fryer is different, then I would suggest you check your cinnamon rolls for doneness at the 12-minute mark and go from there. Some brands may heat differently than this one.
STEP FIVE: Carefully remove the cinnamon rolls and place them onto a serving plate.
STEP SIX: In a small bowl with a handheld mixer on medium speed, beat together the softened cream cheese, salt, and the reserved container of icing that comes with the cinnamon rolls. Beat for 30 seconds to 1 minute or until smooth and fluffy.
STEP SEVEN: Divide the cream cheese icing evenly between the cinnamon rolls. I like to spread the icing just barely to the edges of each cinnamon roll so that it does not run down the sides of the warm rolls.
STEP EIGHT: You can sprinkle a pinch of ground cinnamon onto the tops of each cinnamon roll for added flavor and garnish.
OUR RECIPE DEVELOPER SAYS
I tested this method of air frying canned cinnamon rolls with several variations. I tested different times and temperatures and found that the directions on the can of Grands Cinnamon Rolls for the “Air Fryer Method” were pretty accurate with my brand of air fryer (COSORI).
I did try cooking them at the same temperature (330°F) without parchment paper and found that you need to reduce the cooking time to 10-12 minutes, and you do not need to flip them halfway through the cooking process.
How To Serve
These fluffy air fryer cinnamon rolls would make an easy breakfast. Since they take no time at all to make, you could easily make a batch in the morning and serve them alongside a warm pumpkin spice latte or homemade hot chocolate.
Add a drizzle of caramel sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream for something extra special.

Storage
While they taste best fresh, here’s how to store leftover cinnamon rolls.
IN THE FRIDGE: These fluffy cinnamon rolls are quick and easy to make and are best served while still warm from the air fryer. Leftover cinnamon rolls do not keep well for very long after they are baked, making them a great item to have on hand, kept in the refrigerator in their original packaging, until ready to cook and serve.
IN THE FREEZER: We don’t recommend freezing these cinnamon rolls. They are best made fresh and won’t retain their perfect texture once thawed.
These fantastic little morsels are crispy on the outside and perfectly fluffy on the inside, with a sweet and gooey center that will make your taste buds do backflips. These air fryer cinnamon rolls are so quick and easy to make, and clean-up takes no time at all.

Air fryers are a great alternative to using the regular oven for many reasons. Air fryer recipes tend to cook faster than in the oven, don’t warm up the kitchen the way a regular oven would, and the best part is that clean-up is a snap!
Air fryer Pillsbury cinnamon rolls are best served fresh. We don’t recommend freezing them.
This easy cinnamon rolls recipe would be fine with any size of a cinnamon roll. You will need to adjust your cooking time based on our recommendations above, depending on the size.
