Review RecipeA Boy’s Beach Birthday Party
Table of Contents
It can be double the trouble throwing a party for twins—but for event planner Julie Verville, of Crowning Details, it was just another day at the beach!
This boy’s beach themed birthday party surely brought all the kids to the yard (and party)! Julie’s photos showcase the vibrant decorations, twin smash cakes and cool beach inspired dessert table that made this party for two, one for the record books.

When sand and surf combine with cute and colorful beach inspired details, an awesome beach party is born. Joey and Tanner celebrated turning two with an ultra-cool beach bash. Julie styled a fabulous dessert table!
I love how a rainbow fish net added that beachy feel to a simple white tablecloth. Large inflatable surfboards flanking each side of the table helped give life to the theme. Overhead, a printable banner hung, full of beach themed graphics.
Continuing onto the floor were varying sizes of beach balls and pails. They provided great pops of color to the space.
The dessert table displayed some extraordinary desserts. There were flip-flop cookies (cleverly made from Nutter Butters + hand piped detailing) and beach ball cake balls resting on a bed of brown sugar “sand”.
A tower of gorgeous cupcakes rose from the center of the table, dressed for the party with coordinating printable toppers.
Two twin smash cakes, with surf inspired details, were displayed on galvanized stands. I love that each cake was personalized with the twins’ names in fondant.
Cute surfboard treats made for another fun addition and paired well with the small beach balls scattered on the tabletop.
Additionally, a lovely seaside inspired spread was laid out for guests to enjoy.
Burlap, twine wrapped florals in jars and scattered starfish made for a gorgeous display for more refreshments.
Pay close attention to the cute food labels with clever sea inspired names.
Finger sandwiches were named “surfside sandwiches”, while a medley of fresh fruit was nicknamed “sunshine fruit salad”.
Croissant sandwiches were disguised as crabs, and nuggets were labeled “shark bait”.
Moving outside, several mini areas were set up, including a beverage station with cute printable beach ball topped straws. Sand pails were overflowing with “fish food” (Goldfish crackers) and “surfboard paddles” (Vegetable Straws).
A basket was full of beach essentials and thoughtfully included such things as beach towels and sunscreen.
Party guests had plenty of beach fun to choose from! They could splash in a variety of kiddie pools, build sandcastles or slide down the giant inflatable water slides.
Colorful sand pails were filled for guests as beach themed party favors. Each pail was filled with beach essentials like beach balls, sand toys and sunglasses. I love the “splish splash, I had a blast” favor tag—such a cute detail!
I don’t know about you, but after viewing this party, I am ready to grab my own towel and sunglasses and head to the beach! What a fun party theme!
