Chocolate Cheesecake Stuffed Banana Bread #flashsecurity

By  |

I rarely have two dimes to rub together in my purse. Since debit cards were first introduced — basically since I was in high school — I just haven’t carried cash. Like almost everyone I know, we trust the Interac® Debit brand implicitly. I never realized how much a part of our lives debit cards had become until we had Sam. When he was maybe a year old, we were checking out at the grocery store. He grabbed my debit card from my hand and started trying to swipe it (this was before chip cards). The clerk and I looked at each other in amazement!  It hit me then that a debit card is something that I didn’t even know about until high school, but Sam will never know a world without it. Even today he helps me use my debit card. I key in my PIN and his job is to push the green button. It’s been that way since he was a toddler.

Chocolate Cheesecake Stuffed Banana Bread Recipe

I’ve been sharing photos of cream cheese stuffed bread for about a month now on my Facebook page–to the point where someone actually pointed out that I might be a little obsessed! This afternoon while I was working on my site, I noticed that there are over-ripe bananas setting on my kitchen island, obviously begging to be turned into cheesecake stuffed banana bread. Hmm. Obsessed.

Sam was at his best friend’s house playing today so after I picked him up, we quickly popped into the grocery store on the way home to get the ingredients I would need to actually make said cheesecake stuffed banana bread. I realized our debit card routine will soon slightly change with the inception of Interac Flash®. I can hardly wait!

Interac Flash Security

Obviously I think Interac Flash is a safe, secure and convenient way to pay for everyday purchases. It’s really the same as Interac Debit, except it’s quicker. Since all you have to do is briefly hold your card over the terminal and you’re good to go, it’s even faster than having to enter your PIN every time. A single Interac Flash transaction can’t exceed $100 and safety limits are in place to verify the rightful cardholder. When the limit is reached ($100 for single transactions or up to $200 for multiple contactless transactions), you’re asked to insert your card and enter your PIN and this resets your limit so you can keep using Interac Flash.

Another layer of security is the zero customer liability. A cardholder does not have to pay for unauthorized transactions. Just make a valid claim for any unauthorized transactions resulting from circumstances beyond your control and your financial institution will reimburse you. Chip-enabled Interac Debit and Flash cards are also protected from fraud tactics such as skimming, duplicating and electronic pick-pocketing. That gives me a great peace of mind.

But it doesn’t satisfy my craving for cheesecake stuffed banana bread! This is the recipe that will take care of that:
