Do boys ever outgrow their love for trucks? I think not, as evidenced by this awesome vintage truck themed birthday party planned by Virginia Barrera, of Amador de Parties, for her husband’s 33rd birthday.
Full of creative detail ideas like a dessert table hoisted up on old tires, vintage garage-inspired decorations, and a road sign topped cake, this is one party that boys—young and old—will love.

Clean and classy with a vintage flair, Virginia styled this party in shades of red and navy blue.
The theme was carried throughout the party, starting with the classic invitation inviting guests to celebrate at Alfonso’s garage.
The welcome was extended at the front entry walk, where guests were greeted by a tire display with a license plate welcome sign and festive pennant flags.
The actual party was held in the garage—a perfect setting for a Chevy truck-inspired party! Virginia dressed the space by decorating two round dining tables in coordinating linens.
Custom centerpieces were fashioned from two small tires, a bit of burlap and personalized double-sided “Alfonso 33” logos.
Eye catching place settings consisted of red charger plates, topped with custom themed plates.
Mason jars were made party ready with navy and white paper straws. Red napkins and silver tone utensils were bundled and topped with coordinating napkin wraps.
Each place setting also included a scratch off card, designed for the celebration. What a fun way to choose a winner from each table! And did you notice the terrific vintage truck favor boxes? Love! Tabletop “Alfonso” confetti completed the look.
One of the elements I love most about this party is the dessert table. Would you believe Virginia got all of the tires for her truck themed table for free? She posted a request for old, free tires on her community page.
With a little elbow grease, they looked perfect and shiny for the party! A white IKEA tabletop was added and gave a nice clean look. A license plate-inspired birthday name sign was added to the front of the table for interest.
For fun garage themed props, Virginia raided her pantry and wrapped cans of corn with adorable oil and gas labels. My favorite prop of all is the vintage gas pump—so perfect.
Desserts were plentiful. Red and blue candy coated popcorn filled apothecary jars. Chocolate covered Oreos (they remind me of tires!) looked lovely on cake stands.
Bellaria Bakery made the unbelievably detailed vintage style cookies. Check out that old Chevy truck—wow!
For the macaron lovers, there were chocolate and cinnamon toast macarons from DD’s Macarons to enjoy.
Red metal tool boxes became the perfect display pieces for scrumptious looking cake pops by Jaya Jolie’s Confections.
And don’t you love how the cake was displayed on top of a tire? The Route 33 cake topper was a perfect choice to dress up the cake. Circle labels with names of gas stations embellished the cake stand.
Candy bars received a makeover with custom wrappers. Make sure you take a closer look at the custom food labels. I love how clean and coordinated everything looks.
For the meal, guests helped themselves to a full-service hotdog and popcorn bar. The awesome custom labels and signs kept the theme going.
Aren’t the license plate inspired signs for the cheese, Pico de Gallo, lettuce and guacamole great?
Other “extras” included potato salad, chips and chili.
Drinks were dressed up to look like oil (sweet tea) and anti-freeze (lemonade) dispensers —so clever.
In other areas of the party space, vintage signs advertised various gas and oil products and directed guests to “ultra clean” restrooms.
I love how Virginia made these from printables attached to dollar store pizza pans!
Virginia also added a creative touch to a cardboard letter “A” by gluing on dollar store wrenches—an awesome find and so budget-friendly!
You’ll notice coordinating décor in the photo booth area and lots of fun props to use for posing.
What a cool vintage truck celebration for one lucky husband! Virginia is one crafty lady with great attention to details!
