This delightful strawberry mudslide cocktail all starts with ice cream that blends beautifully with the liqueurs.

The Baileys strawberries & cream liqueur adds a delightful strawberry twist and creamy texture to the mudslide, making it an absolute delight.

The Kahlua gives the cocktail a coffee undertone that complements the sweetness wonderfully. At the same time, the whipped cream vodka variant adds an extra layer of airy lightness that’s just too good to miss!

You’ll need:

  • 1½ ounces of Bailey’s strawberries & cream liqueur
  • 1 ounce of Kahlua coffee liqueur
  • 1 ounce of whipped cream vodka
  • ¼ cup of whole milk
  • 3 scoops of strawberry ice cream

For The Garnish:

  • Chocolate syrup
  • Extra creamy squirt whipped topping
  • Whole fresh strawberry for the rim of the glass

PRO TIP:

When choosing your brand of ice cream, be sure to choose a good quality version. Remember, the better the quality of your ingredients, the tastier your frozen mudslide drink will be.

Substitutions and Additions

ALMOND MILK OR OAT MILK: If you want to make the mudslide cocktail dairy-free, substituting whole milk with almond or oat milk will work fine. These options also add a unique nutty or oat flavor.

CREME DE CACAO: If you’re out of Kahlua coffee liqueur, creme de cacao offers a chocolatey twist to your strawberry mudslide.

FRANGELICO: A hazelnut liqueur could be a delectable swap for whipped cream vodka, adding a layer of nutty flavors to the drink.

BAILEYS STRAWBERRIES & CREAM LIQUEUR: You can use original Baileys Irish Cream liqueur if the Strawberries & Cream variant is unavailable. Just add 3-4 frozen strawberries to keep the berry component.

CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM: If you’re a chocolate lover, replace the strawberry ice cream with chocolate. Don’t forget to add a couple of fresh strawberries to maintain the berry kick!

CHOCOLATE CHIPS: Add a tablespoon of chocolate chips to the blender for a chunky, chocolatey surprise.

GARNISH: Instead of chocolate syrup, coat the rim of the glass with colorful sprinkles or shredded coconut for a festive look.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use almond milk?

Yes, but this may alter the creamy texture and flavor of your strawberry cocktail.

What other fruits can I use?

Although this is a strawberry mudslide, you can experiment with other fruits like raspberries, blueberries, or even a tropical twist with mango or pineapple.

Is this drink suitable for kids?

The original recipe contains alcohol, so it’s not suitable for kids. However, you can make a non-alcoholic version using substitutes like non-alcoholic Irish cream and coffee syrups.

Can I use frozen strawberries instead of ice cream in this strawberry Baileys recipe?

While ice cream gives the drink a creamy texture, you can use frozen strawberries for a lighter version. You may want to add a bit of sugar or honey to compensate for the ice cream’s sweetness.

What blender speed is optimal for making a strawberry mudslide?

High speed is recommended to get that creamy, smooth texture. However, be careful not to over-blend, as you don’t want the ice cream to melt too much.

Can I make this cocktail recipe non-alcoholic?

You can substitute the Bailey’s and Kahlua with non-alcoholic Irish cream and coffee syrups. Use non-alcoholic vanilla extract in place of the whipped cream vodka.
