Total Time & Yield: 8 hours for 4 servings.
Why This Recipe
- Our recipe includes sliced fresh onions and mushrooms, which add a rich, earthy depth of flavor.
- Many other recipes skip this step, using only canned ingredients, which can result in a less fresh, more one-note flavor.
- Additionally, the use of garlic in our recipe adds a more dynamic flavor layer. Garlic enhances the savory profile and pairs beautifully with the onion and mushroom base.
- Many other cube steak recipes overlook garlic as a key ingredient, resulting in a dish that can feel a bit one-dimensional.
- This recipe’s flexibility also sets it apart. Whether you prefer serving it over egg noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes, the gravy clings perfectly to any base, making it a versatile family favorite.
