If you’re a fan of chocolate and mint, then this mint Oreo dessert is an indulgent treat that you simply can’t miss.

The creamy layers of whipped cream, velvety cream cheese, and silky milk chocolate pudding are perfectly complemented by the crunchy, chocolatey Oreo crust.

But it’s the refreshing mint flavor that really steals the show here.

To make this dessert, you’ll need:

For The Mint Oreo Crust:

  • 20 ounces of mint Oreos
  • 6 tablespoons of salted sweet cream butter, melted and cooled
  • 2 tablespoons of salted sweet cream butter, softened (for buttering the baking dish)

For The Mint No-Bake Cheesecake Layer:

  • 2 (8-ounce) packages of cream cheese, softened
  • ¾ cup of powdered sugar
  • 2 (8-ounce) containers of whipped topping, thawed
  • 1½ teaspoons of pure mint extract
  • 2 to 3 drops of green food color gel

For The Chocolate Pudding Layer:

  • 2 (3.9-ounce) packages of instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups of cold whole milk

Substitutions And Additions

MINTS: You can add chopped Andes mints to the cream cheese layer and the topping.

MINT EXTRACT: If you cannot find pure mint extract, you can substitute peppermint extract in this easy dessert.

PUDDING: You can substitute instant dark chocolate pudding mix for the regular instant chocolate pudding mix in this easy recipe.

TOPPINGS: Use a peeler to make chocolate shavings from a chocolate candy bar to sprinkle over top of the dessert.

You could also sprinkle chocolate chips on top of your Oreo mint dessert.

How To Make This Mint Oreo Dessert Recipe

This dessert is made by creating delicious layers of decadent ingredients. Start with a chocolatey Oreo crust, followed by the minty green cheesecake and whipped cream layer.

Finally, the chocolate pudding layer topped with Cool Whip and Oreo pieces finish this dessert perfectly.

Make sure to leave plenty of time to chill so that all the layers set before digging in.

STEP ONE: Use either a food processor or a Ziploc bag and a rolling pin and crush 32 mint Oreo cookies for the crust.

Reserve ten cookies to break into smaller pieces for the topping.

STEP TWO: Add the crushed cookies and the melted butter to a medium-sized mixing bowl. Stir to coat the Oreo crumbs completely.

STEP THREE: Use a pastry brush or your fingers to coat the entire surface of a 9×9 square pan with the two tablespoons of softened butter.

STEP FOUR: Press the buttered cookie crumbs into the bottom of the pan. Place the baking dish in the refrigerator while preparing the no-bake cheesecake layer.

Using the bottom of a glass cup is extremely helpful to press the mixture nice and tightly in the dish.

STEP FIVE: Add the softened cream cheese to a large bowl.

Use a handheld electric mixer on medium-high speed and beat the cream cheese for one minute until smooth.

PRO TIP:

Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature, so there aren’t any lumps in your mixture.

STEP SIX: Add the powdered sugar to the cream cheese and beat for another 1 to 1½ minutes until combined.

STEP SEVEN: Add one cup of the thawed whipped topping and the mint extract. Beat for another one minute until combined.

STEP EIGHT: Add two to three drops of green food coloring gel and mix just until no streaks of green remain and the color is a uniform mint green.

STEP NINE: Remove the baking dish from the refrigerator. Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over the cookie crumb layer.

Return the baking dish to the fridge while you prepare the pudding layer.

STEP TEN: Add the cold milk, one cup of the thawed whipped topping, and the instant pudding mix to a medium-sized mixing bowl.

Use a handheld mixer at medium speed to combine the pudding mixture. Beat for 1½ to 2 minutes or until the mixture begins to thicken.

STEP ELEVEN: Remove the baking dish from the refrigerator and spread the pudding over the cream cheese layer.

Return the baking dish to the fridge and allow the mint Oreo dessert to fully set up for two hours.

PRO TIP:

Giving this dessert plenty of time to chill will make it easier to cut and give it a thicker consistency. If you plan to make it a day ahead, add it to the fridge overnight and then add the topping just before serving.

STEP TWELVE: Just before serving, evenly spread the remaining thawed whipped topping over top of the pudding layer.
