Creamy, rich, and full of warm, comforting spice, cinnamon butter is the perfect addition to any baked treat, morning toast, or stack of fluffy pancakes.

The sweet aroma fills the air as it melts into a decadent pool of pure indulgence, ready to be savored with each and every bite.

You’ll need:

  • ½ cup of salted butter, room temperature
  • ⅓ cup of powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract

Substitutions And Additions

BUTTER: You can use unsalted butter in this creamy spread recipe if that is what you keep stocked in your refrigerator; however, you will need to add ¼ to ½ teaspoon fine salt to your list of ingredients.

HONEY: Be sure you use mild honey such as wildflower or clover in this cinnamon butter spread recipe. If you use stronger flavored honey, then it will alter the flavor of your cinnamon butter. You do not want to use whipped honey either, as it will also alter the texture of the recipe.

This recipe is as simple as blending the ingredients together with a hand mixer. Let’s get started.

Make sure your butter is very soft (NOT melted), as it will whip up much smoother and fluffier. It will also allow the other ingredients to be easily incorporated into the butter.

STEP ONE: In a medium mixing bowl with a hand mixer or in the bowl of a stand mixer, beat together the butter, powdered sugar, honey, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract on medium-high speed for 1 minute or until light and fluffy. 

PRO TIP:

If you use one of those small rubber spatulas, they make it very easy to transfer your cinnamon butter into small mason jars or other containers.

STEP TWO: Transfer the cinnamon butter to an airtight container (small mason jars work great) and refrigerate until ready to use. I used a wide-mouth half-pint mason jar (Kerr brand).

PRO TIP:

Before using your cinnamon butter, you may want to allow it to sit at room temperature to soften slightly before spreading it on your rolls or other items.

IN THE FREEZER: You can freeze this delicious cinnamon honey butter for up to 2 months. Allow the butter to thaw at room temperature for 2 to 3 hours before serving.
